Made an appointment as they STRONGLY RECOMMEND & still have to wait over a hour. There is only one person working here as both the check-in person & the person actually making the CACs adding people to deers, ect. With all these people on shore duty not being able to find billets to fill why don’t they put people here ??? Or just employ dependents part time? Something this is ridiculous, only 3 PSD in the area but 1 each base & this is the best they can do?
Absolutely amazing experience. Never in my Navy career have I been to an ID place where the staff was so friendly! Kimberly is the best! Helped my wife and me get new IDs.
Took the family to get updated ID cards. Excellent and efficient service! Our documents were screened to make sure we had everything and we waited for about 10 minutes for our appointment. The appointment took about 30 mins to get four new ID cards. Come prepared and leave happy.
This place was a JOKE. The guy they have there at the front desk “Chris” is incredibly rude and reflects a poor representation of the Navy’s standard you’d come to expect. Came in with my husband when the office opened @7:30. I was prepared with all of my paperwork, including 3 forms of ID. There was only 5 of us walk-ins checking in and the lobby was empty. He told us he couldn’t accept ANY of my paperwork. We asked why and literally it was all because of a hyphenated last name! Luckily, I had all of the proof and documents I needed to support this but he STILL said he couldn’t accept any of my papers. Because of some new policy excuse? He then proceeded to argue with us, so that was nice. We called NAS Jax to verify I had what I needed and drove to their PSD instead. They took my paperwork AND accepted the document for the last name change. I received my ID that same day and was also put on DEERS with no issues. Staff there was also very friendly and respectful. But at the end of the day, we basically drove over there for nothing. Big Man Chris clearly doesn’t have his facts straight if I was able to get my ID from their office no problem. Nice to see this is the treatment towards military spouses and families. **Everyone that says “just come prepared” had it easy and clearly didn’t go through the same experience we did** Appointments for Mayport are a month out but yet the lobby was empty. I still wouldn’t come here unless you wanna be harassed by grumpy employees. I would strongly advise going to NAS Jax PSD for all DEERS enrollment/ID appointments if you don’t want your time wasted. At least there you actually feel welcome
Really difficult to get a CAC renewed but despite PSD's best efforts I was eventually able to do it
