After having my mother live with me for 20 years and taking care of her through decline in health and aging you can imagine how difficult it was to accept the fact that I could no longer meet her daily needs alone. Emotionally that was a hard hit for me and my family. There is no handbook that walks you through the process of finding a home that meets the needs of your loved or walk you through the steps you have to take to get there. And trying to get financial information was one dead end after another. I contacted so many nursing homes just to be let down every step along the way. Meanwhile my mother’s needs were getting greater and I was left feeling hopeless. Then at last I made the right phone call and it was to Pruitt Health. My first contact was with Jamie who immediately began to put me at ease. She gave me more information in one phone call than I had gotten in almost 2 years from anyone else. She told me exactly what to get together from documents to financial information and within a weeks time I knew my mother would FINALLY get the care she needed and deserved. The admissions lady (I believe her name is Brenda) met us on move in day and mom felt like a princess with all of the attention and love. Then the financial lady, Lyndsey spent time explaining so much to us and helped us every step of the way even months after mom moved in. Each and every nurse, CNA, staff member of any sort made mom feel like they had been waiting with excitement for her arrival. This absolutely eased my mothers worry of moving out of our home. My sister and I had a meeting with Evelyn, Lyndsey, Meghan and Scott each from different departments explaining everything to us (how things were done, what to expect and who to go to for what) Sarah and Emily at the front counter always welcome us with a smile and help us with anything we ask. The maintenance crew is right on top of anything that needs to be done and we have never had to wait. Mom still misses our home and can have a difficult time motivating herself to take part in the many activities Pruitt has to offer and this is where Cathy Hester, the activities director comes in. She is so happy and energetic all the time and mom truly looks forward to seeing her everyday. Cathy gets mom out doing things and joining in the activities. She has been my saving grace in motivating mom to not only join her new community but to love being a part of it. I love that Cathy sends me pictures of mom participating in Bingo and activities when I can’t be there and I truly love seeing moms smile in the pictures. Mom tells every single person at Pruitt that they are her favorite and the truth is they all are. She is so loved here and has top notch care. The kind of care done with love. Pruitt has allowed my sister and I to breathe again knowing she is in the best hands possible. Mom’s entire family, her three children, her siblings, her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends know she is in the right place and we are so grateful.
I want to thank everyone for the excellent care that our Father received during his time at Pruitt Health in Fleming Island. Everyone was so kind and went above and beyond for him. The facility is kept very clean and the meals prepared look very good. All of the staff were friendly and very helpful.I also would like to thank the Hospice staff that came in and took care of him. Thank you again for the excellent care for our Father. God bless you all.
I had such a wonderful experience at Pruitt Health! I was invited out for their Social Hour marketing event, and from the moment I walked in, everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. The facility itself was absolutely beautiful—honestly one of the nicest I’ve ever walked into! Thank you so much for having Jacqui’s Java and making me feel so welcome. ☕️💚

It’s a pleasure to provide the Pruitt team at Fleming Island my highest endorsement. I spent 30 years as a Navy Nurse CAPT and am currently the Vice President for Transformation for Sharp HealthCare in San Diego. My father Carl Summers, a 90 year old Navy Veteran, was transferred to Pruitt in Fleming Island in April 2026 after a hip fracture with multiple complications. The Pruitt leadership, clinical care and teamwork has been the best I have ever seen in my 42 years in healthcare. The nurses, LVNs and CNAs, PT, OT, specialist Nurse Practitioners are compassionate and personable as they carefully tailor personal care for my father. The facility is designed around a beautifully landscaped courtyard, bridging nature with the clinical environment. Pruitt feels like home and is extremely clean and welcoming. I would like to thank the Pruitt team for embracing our family and friends as they deliver top decile care to my father.
