I dropped in while in town visiting family and was blown away not only with how welcoming and friendly everyone was, but with the level of instruction and quality of training. If you’re a beginner looking for a gym to join, or an experienced practitioner looking to drop in while in the area I can’t recommend Protactx enough. I’ll be back!

★★★★★ There’s something wild and almost alchemical about this place. Protractx Jiu Jitsu isn’t just a gym, it’s a crucible. I came in a 45-year-old Marine Corps veteran, 312 pounds of old habits and scar tissue, seven years of Taekwondo behind me and a black belt around my waist. I thought I knew what fighting was. I was wrong. This art humbled me fast, and in that humility, it rebuilt me. Two years later, I stand 71 pounds lighter, stronger, sharper, and still learning. The journey hasn’t been just mine. The mats are covered in stories, people shedding weight, building muscle, transforming their health, and rediscovering themselves. I’ve watched men and women of every size and background push past fear, past pain, past every excuse to become better versions of themselves. I’ve watched kids grow into competitors and adults who came in just looking for exercise step into tournaments ,and win. Myself included. Every medal I’ve brought home tells a story of adversity met head-on and conquered, surrounded by teammates who believe in you as much as you believe in them. This is a culture of shared struggle and quiet triumph. Police officers, firefighters, doctors, corporate warriors, mixed martial artists, and quiet killers from special forces all blending together on the mats. Every roll, every drill is a conversation, an exchange of knowledge, and a test of character. What you gain here doesn’t stay in the gym. It follows you off the mats: strength of character, calm confidence, and an unshakable sense of what you’re capable of. It’s made me a better father, husband, friend, a better man. If you want a place where your kids can grow strong and safe, where you can trust the people guiding them, where you’ll find a family built on sweat, respect, and relentless support, this is it. Step through those doors. Put in the work. And let this art change you, the way it changed me. The journey continues.

Amazing experience. For context, I’m an adult beginner with no previous martial arts experience so it’s all new for me. The entire crew keeps me motivated to keep coming back and to work at being better each session.
