This restaurant has such a cool vibe! The decoration and theming is great, and so is the food! The grilled cheese and german pretzel were fantastic. Michael, our server, was amazing! He was attentive, patient, and answered any questions we had with a friendly and positive energy. Highly recommend! Thanks again!
Come for the drinks, atmosphere and bands, but skip the food and I’ll tell you why. We sat at the bar and just looking around you know you’re going to have a good time. The bartenders were really attentive and patience even though they were busy which I applaud. As for the food, we tried the short rib grilled cheese (Sarbez grilled cheese are way better) and deviled eggs which were some of their more popular items. Neither item impressed which I am unhappy to report and need to be honest. The fries were good though. It’s a tourist spot too, but I definitely recommend going there for a drink just to check out how fun it can be inside. Don’t forget to look for the old cash register.
Waited for well over an hour, ended up having to split our group into two, one side of our group was seated, order taken and they ate and were standing outside waiting for us when our tables order hadn't even been submitted to the kitchen, had to hunt down the server and asked multiple times for our drinks. We ended up having to cancel our order and paid for what little we did get. My experience was less than pleasant to say the least. I would not recommend going here, the staff didn't seem to really care if we got service or not. The manager was not exactly helpful either.
Prohibition Kitchen was one of the highlights of my trip to St. Aug! The poutine and the boiled peanuts are absolute must orders. The drinks are good, the atmosphere is awesome and really fits the historic downtown vibe. I’d definitely recommend making a reservation if you can. We ended up putting our name on the waitlist and walked around the Lightner Museum while we waited which took a little over an hour. It was totally worth it though. The food, drinks, and ambiance made the wait worthwhile. Definitely will be back!
Visited 08MAY26:: THIS PLACE WAS AWESOME and GREAT VIBES! First time for my girlfriend and I. The atmosphere was so much fun; bar scene, dinner, live music lots of room for just standing around to drink and lots of room for sitting. The menu was the "front of a newspaper" very fun and unique. We ordered fried pickles, I had the lobster roll and my girlfriend ordered a chicken sandwich. The pickles were perfect, good pickle to breading ratio. The lobster roll was packed and really delicious. I would order that again. My girlfriends chicken sandwich was flavorful! Our server was fun and nice! Just all around great experience. I recommend and would eat here again!!
