If you work with the staff they will help you, most people who get kicked out or in trouble usually dont wanna listen to staff or the rules that they have in place here, but if you work the program youll be able to get from here.
As a former client at Port in The Storm, I can say this facility is one of the most supporting and has the most hardworking employees. They truly care about everyone that steps foot in the building. Personally I was dealing with a lot of issues and after a month of going and speaking with the staff and attending groups, my whole mindset completely changed. I am a new person and in a place in life i'd never thought i'd be in and it's all thanks to them. Please if you are in need of help, do not feel embarrassed or alone because Port in The Storm will help you. ❤️
So I had to stay here for an emergency housing because I was living out my car and didn’t have anywhere to go because my family lives in Kentucky. I stayed here about 2 months. The staff talk about the homeless and each other, they even talk about the old lady the brings food for the homeless everyday. Unless your and extrovert and fit the homeless look look elsewhere. They targeted me bc I don’t talk and I don’t fit the homeless look, I’m very pretty and I knew from the beginning since they are ALL female staff they wouldn’t like me. So, my car broke down and I had to get it fixed so I wasn’t able to come back until about 3 days after. So they kick me out cool. But not only was they being wrong they threw my clothes in the dumpster!! Guys I was honestly close to going to jail today. I had to keep my cool and remember these older women that are less attractive than me so it was bound to happen. This place is like a show. Lisa is the aggressive one who may have a power problem. Then they have sarita who is Hispanic and mind you there is no assigned parking. So one day I was bringing clothes out my dorm to my car and the sarita lady said “ CAN YOU STOP PARKING HERE THIS IS WHERE I PARK” me knowing there isn’t any assigned parking I was confused I went inside to ask the counselors if there is actual assigned parking she said no, so I went back outside and she was like is there a problem? I was like the counselor told me there’s no assigned parking which made her look bad and she went storming in there harassing the counselor and saying “why aren’t you on my side, even if you didn’t kno your supposed to be on my side” guys I cannot make this up if your a boy your fine but if your a female they won’t like you. So yes, after my car broke down and got fixed I immediately went to go and get my clothes. When I walked in Lisa said “ your clothes are in the garbage” here are the pictures for proof guys. Honestly this is an sick organization, I will try my best to make it known to masses about this place. Also they have roaches and nats
I have been living here for a month now. They strict about thier rules which is good, the only people who complain are usually those who can't and won't follow the rules. They usually act like they're children and not young adults
DO NOT GO HERE. THEY WERE JEALOUS AND RUDE. THEY TOOK MY SUITCASE THAT WERE FILLED WITH NICE CLOTHES, SHOES, JEWELRY AND ETC.AND KICKED ME OUT FOR NO REASON. KNOWING I HAD NO WHERE TO GO.
