Update: They wanted to charge an extra $120 after the exam and x-rays for a cleaning, when the “new patient special” said the cleaning was included in the the offer. I scheduled it for later because I only had planned on spending the $100, but went home to check the website because I was confused. The website does imply the cleaning is included and is NOT extra! Seriously disappointed when everything else was such a great experience. Bait and switch. ☹️ ————————————- Came in with a concern about a sensitive tooth and was immediately impressed — they did the x-ray right in the chair with a handheld machine. Where has that technology been all my life? And a small but meaningful detail: they offered sunglasses for the dental light, which was such a relief for someone with light-sensitivity. This is an all-woman practice, and every single one of them was lovely — professional, to the point, and zero pressure. I’d just had a cleaning six months ago at another office and they respected that completely. No upselling, no unnecessary recommendations. Most importantly, they took my concern seriously. I’ve had dentists talk down to me before, and it makes such a difference to walk out feeling heard rather than dismissed. In and out quickly, treated with respect the whole time. Highly recommend the whole team! I finally found a dentist office I like!
I’ve been going to Point Meadows Dentistry for some time, and I’ve been extremely pleased with the care I receive from Dr. Malarkey and Liliana. They truly make a great team. Since Liliana has taken over as my dental assistant, she has been an absolute joy. She’s incredibly attentive, personable, and genuinely makes you feel like she cares about your comfort and your experience—not just the dental work being done. That personal touch makes a big difference. Dr. Malarkey is wonderful as well—professional, caring, and easy to trust. Together, she and Liliana have created the kind of experience that makes going to the dentist something you don’t have to dread. If I can have these two taking care of me every time I come in, Point Meadows Dentistry has a patient for life.
This was my first time going to a dentist in more than four years. I had a few cavities that needed to be filled and also needed a deep cleaning. Dr. Sarah Danser filled my cavities over two appointments about a week apart. When my bite felt slightly off afterward, she was quick to make an adjustment and get it feeling right. A week later, dental hygienist Ansley Brunson performed the first part of my deep cleaning. I had quite a bit of plaque buildup beneath my gums and on my teeth, and she showed me before-and-after X-rays so I could see how much she had removed. My teeth already feel significantly cleaner, and I feel much more confident about my oral health. I have one more deep-cleaning appointment because my insurance only allows sections of the mouth to be cleaned at a time rather than completing the entire mouth in one visit. Dr. Danser and Ansley were both very kind, caring, and professional. The same can be said for the entire office, from Anna and Danielle at the front desk to all of the dental assistants who helped me during my visits. It is true that the office will no longer be accepting Delta Dental, which is the insurance I currently have, but they have been transparent and have continued working with me through the situation. We also agreed on one thing: dental insurance can be incredibly frustrating. Overall, they made returning to the dentist after more than four years much easier and less stressful than I expected. A well-deserved 5/5 rating. Thanks, ladies!
This visit took place in July 2024. I didn’t leave a review at the time because I wanted to give the insurance dispute a chance to be resolved. After a lengthy review process involving Delta Dental and the Florida Department of Financial Services, the matter has now been closed, and I felt it was fair to share my experience. Before making my appointment, I told Point Meadows Dentistry that I had Delta Dental insurance and was told they accepted it. I provided my insurance information again when I arrived. During the appointment, I was then asked via text to email my insurance card while I was sitting in the chair. After reviewing it, Emily informed me that they did not accept my specific Delta Dental plan after all. At that point, my visit was essentially stopped, I never received the cleaning I came in for, and I later received a bill anyway. It ultimately took a complaint process involving Delta Dental and the State of Florida to get the matter resolved. The hygienist was very friendly, but there were other issues that concerned me. My periodontal charting had to be redone because some measurements were recorded incorrectly (he called Emily over to record the numbers which was strange). I was told I had multiple 5s, 6s, and 7s, shown alarming pictures of advanced gum disease, and told I needed several deep cleanings. The discussion felt very high-pressure and left me genuinely worried about my dental health. The experience affected me so much that I avoided going to the dentist for about a year afterward. When I finally established care with a new dental office, they found my gums were actually in good condition, with measurements mostly in the 1–3 range, and only routine cleanings were recommended. I was also told that a cavity identified at Point Meadows would simply be monitored, and years later it still has not required treatment. I can only speak to my own experience, but the combination of the insurance confusion, being billed after the visit was interrupted, and being told I needed extensive treatment that another dentist did not find necessary left me with very little confidence in the office. Hopefully this feedback helps future patients ask detailed questions about insurance coverage and seek a second opinion before agreeing to major treatment recommendations.
To be honest, I had stopped coming to this office in the past because my experiences felt a little unclear and not well‑directed. Nothing terrible , just not the best guidance. Recently, I decided to give it another try, and I’m so glad I did. Dr. Dander is truly a charm. She made me feel familiar, comfortable, and cared for. After a procedure I couldn’t complete due to my blood pressure, she personally checked on me. The fact that she went out of her way to follow up showed me that she genuinely cares. As a medical professional ,especially in dental , you don’t come across providers like her often. She’s compassionate, attentive, and intentional. The overall office vibe is cool, laid‑back, and fun. It works well for me.
