Our family has been attending Petra Baptist Church for about a year and a half, and it has truly been a blessing. From the very beginning, everyone we met was kind, welcoming, and genuinely interested in getting to know us. It's the kind of church where people remember your name, ask how you're doing, and make you feel like part of the family. It has a small-town feel. Pastor Ted preaches straight from the Bible, and his messages are clear, practical, and firmly rooted in Scripture. He has a gift for taking biblical truths and explaining them in a way that is easy to understand and apply to everyday life. His sermons are thoughtful, engaging, and never leave you wondering what the passage means. He also adds just the right amount of humor, which keeps the messages relatable and enjoyable without distracting from the seriousness of God's Word. You can tell that he has a genuine love for Scripture and a heart for helping people grow in their faith. The music is wonderful as well. It is worshipful and uplifting without being overwhelming. The volume is comfortable, and the music portion of the service complements the preaching rather than taking over the entire service. One of the biggest blessings has been seeing our children thrive. They have made wonderful friends in their Sunday School classes and look forward to coming each week. If you're looking for a friendly church that teaches the Bible, values families, and creates a welcoming atmosphere for both adults and children, we highly recommend Petra Baptist Church.
Petra Baptist is a community church where the community comes together. They offer a wonderful children's church for boys and girls 12 and under. Preacher Ted Owens has been directing the helm since it's inception in 2011 when they first started meeting at a pool clubhouse off Country Road 210. Bring the family for an informative time and each Sunday morning the day starts with coffee and donuts!!
Petra Baptist has been so welcoming to my family. My son loves all the activities they have. Makes going to church such a blessing when the whole family enjoys it. Plus the pastor preaches right from the Bible!
If you are looking for a solid Bible teaching church this is the place. Been attending for over a year now after moving to the area and it has been encouragement to the family.
Great church, highly recommended. Although we haven't been here that long, we feel the love of Jesus as soon as we walk in because everyone is so friendly and inviting, the music is wonderful, and the preaching is wonderful...clear, applicable, and accurate.
