After a visit with Dr Yalch, I was looking over the paperwork for my visit and found it reported both that I was a daily smoker and that I had never smoked. As a nonsmoker I was concerned that this would impact any future insurance rates so I wanted to get this corrected. By law, they have 6 months from the time I report it to get it fixed. It took 9 months and a dozen phone calls to get it taken care of. Each time I was told they would take care of it. Each time I had to start from scratch because no one knew it had been reported. Never going back.
I will never be able to speak highly enough about Dr. Yalch. I’ve been a patient of his since he came to Baptist many years ago and for every health issue I’ve had he has been a true patient advocate. I’ve been to other PCPs while living in different cities but ended up returning to this office to see him when visiting rather than see any other doctor. My health concerns started when I was in my low to mid 20s and I had to have many tests and see quite a few specialists, some of which were dismissive of a young female in pain or labeled me as medication seeking when I was truly in pain and needed help. This is never been the case with Dr. Yalch. He’s always believed me when I told him there was something wrong and has done everything in his power to order the proper tests and send me to the correct specialist when necessary. I eventually resolved those health issues thanks to him and I truly believe I may have never solved them without his help. Over 10 years later, facing a new health problem, Dr. Yalch again has done everything within his power to help me and offered advice on how to effectively navigate my new health concerns. I recommend him to almost every friend who has had the unfortunate experience of having doctors dismiss their concerns or just don’t feel heard by their doctors. He is the pinnacle of what every PCP should be.
I did not receive any attention from Dr. Yalch other than what a RN could perform. He checked my last records and blood tests from August2021. He asked no questions, but did recommend blood testing as an answer to my concern about fatigue. Did wait a reasonable 15 minutes after entering his exam room, understandable if he gets involved with a previous patient. Considering the time he spent with me, he should have been 10 minutes earlier. Am I expected to diagnose my own health concerns or is the doctor expected to question me sufficiently to determine if there is a further need for service? Dr. Yalch is pleasant, but uninformitive.
THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE OFFICE NOT THE PROVIDERS. But access to Dr Yalch is impossible it seems now. I have been a patient of Dr Yalch for over 10yrs. The past approx 2yrs since the office has gone through a revamp. Every single time I try to be seen there is an issue. Its is easter weekend and I am running out of medications that I need to function properly. No appt with anyone not even the Nurse Pract or anyone isnt available for over a week. When I asked for med refills until I can be seen, I was confronted by a very rude nurse .... on top, they called my the only meds they WOULD refill to the wrong pharmacy in another state and it being holiday weekend I cant even get them transferred. I informed the nurse I would end up in the hospital without the required meds. I cannot put publicly all the information. But I am so worried and dont know what to do. I have been with Yalch for over a decade and I drive over 3 hrs to stay with him as a patient after I have moved.... But if I can't even get access to him due to the office... what do I do???? I am a Desert Storm War Veteran surviving spouse, after everything myself and family have been through, after all the providers and care, Yalch and Andre were the only providers I could count on, I am literally crying... the thought of having to go through the whole process again to find someone to care for my health now in my 50s is scaring me.
I have been seeing Dr. Yalch for a few years now. He has been a wonderful doctor, always ready to take the time to explain any questions/concerns I might have. I especially appreciate the office staff's, consistent, friendly and compassionate attitudes. The wait is always reasonable {even during peak times}.
