Scheduling an appointment with the new AI system is a nightmare. When I give my daughter’s birthdate (and say “19” for the year) it says “1900?” Like come on, that’s a mistake a human wouldn’t make. When scheduling a sick appointment they tried to schedule me at a location two hours away and told me they had no local appointments. So I kept asking for a human, got disconnected twice, and then once I got connected to a normal office worker they confirmed that they had plenty of sick appointments available at the Hodges location. So why did the AI try to book me in Gainesville? The office worker told me it had booked someone from Miami with them earlier that week. So today I’m trying again to book a sick appointment, and I’m trying to do it for two kids at once which they’ve always been able to do before… but the ai just cannot do it. It keeps telling me it’s unable to book two appointments and I need to call back, but then I can’t just have the kids in at the same time? So I asked to speak to a human again, it refused for about two more minutes before trying to connect me to the office… and then no one answers. This is the third time I’ve had issues scheduling since they’ve sold to the new owners and this new AI is awful and ridiculous and ineffective. This is a doctors office. I want to know that real people care about my children. I want to know that real people will be helping to care for my children. I want to be able to schedule an appointment without needing five separate phone calls and an hour of my time. I want to talk to a human who can answer a question without asking if my child is born in 1900.

I have generally loved this office and my son’s usual pediatrician, which is why I am disappointed by a recent experience. Due to an insurance change, we had to reschedule and were inadvertently booked with a provider my son has not seen since infancy. While reviewing his chart in the patient portal, I noticed a partial visit summary already generated for an upcoming appointment on July 8th, including a developmental delay screening with a billing code attached, despite the visit not having occurred yet. My concern is that developmental screening documentation appears to have been added without an in-person evaluation by the current provider. The only concerns I have ever raised regarding development have been discussed with his regular pediatrician, who did not identify any delays based on observation or discussion. I have also consistently completed the required screening questionnaires, which have not previously resulted in concern. I understand that standardized screening tools are used in pediatric care; however, it is confusing and concerning to see a coded developmental delay screening attached to a visit that has not yet taken place with a provider who is not familiar with my child’s ongoing care. I continue to value this practice and my son’s regular doctor, but this situation has left me disappointed and questioning the consistency and accuracy of how documentation is being handled. I want to add I haven’t yet called the office about this because it’s impossible to even speak with somebody through AI, but I would definitely like to speak with somebody.
Had my daughter here and they change doctors like they change underwear. Had to call them 5 times to ask for my daughters records for school and the receptionist I think her name is samantha or something and she just kept hanging up on the last time I called upset because they kept saying they sent me the records and refused to provide and release the records for my daughter for her school. Someone needs to look into the office because they r refusing to provide me with daughters records and that’s illegal. The receptionist keeps putting me on hold everytime I call because they are not on the app or anywhere. This is ridiculous.
As others have stated, this practice went downhill after Rainbow Kids sold out to Pediatrica. We had been taking out daughter here for the past 5 years after her other, long term pediatrician closed up shop. The staff is severely undertrained. They don't seem to understand basic statistics or nutrition, which is all fine, but then stay in your lane and don't dole out outdated/dangerously wrong advice. They also don't seem to have any clue how to work with non-white patients and will look you right in the face to argue with you about why their stats for a typical, white American kid should be applied to a Mexican with a completely different genetic makeup/predisposition growing up under a completely different environment. There is plenty of research to be consumed on how these child stats they use are biased. It is their job to be aware of this and yet they will look you and your kid dead in the eye scare you and your child with their "stats" and recommendations because she is growing up to be a typical Latina instead of a European kid. As others have said, clearly no concern for the child's well-being. We had to have a conversation with ours after leaving about how she is perfectly normal and the doctors are just ignorant to different racial genetics. Needless to say, we will not be going back.
I don't understand what's going with this pediatric. I had military orders to Virginia last year and have been deployed a month after I moved over there. I requested my kids medical records to be sent to the new doctors a few months ago. Upon my return home I realized that the records have not been sent and worse, I have been calling them for days now and no answer. This is unacceptable.
