  My family has visited Palm Beach Autographs during our annual vacation for the past three years, and purchasing one of their NBA Hall of Fame mystery jerseys became part of the tradition. Our first year was a great experience my brother pulled Jason Kidd, which was an exciting result and one of the reasons we returned. Unfortunately, the last two years have been much more disappointing. This year, my brother and I each purchased a mystery jersey for $150, plus tax, in separate transactions only seven minutes apart. There were four different options available. One box was labeled Bulls, while the others displayed different statistical clues. We intentionally selected boxes that appeared different and fully understood that a mystery purchase involves risk. We were not expecting or guaranteed a superstar. However, both boxes contained Artis Gilmore one Chicago Bulls jersey and one San Antonio Spurs jersey. Although the teams were different, the player and authentication cards were the same. Spending more than $320 combined and opening the same player twice took away nearly all of the excitement of purchasing the boxes together. What made it more disappointing is that my brother also received Artis Gilmore from this store the previous year. Based on the clues, we had hoped that one of the boxes might contain Pau Gasol, but we understand the clues do not guarantee a particular player. Still, receiving Artis Gilmore in consecutive years and then receiving him twice during the same visit this year made the selection feel far less varied than we expected. We are not questioning the authenticity of the signatures or suggesting anything dishonest occurred. The autographs include authentication. Buyers should understand, however, that these are signed custom jerseys, not officially licensed NBA jerseys, as stated on the packaging. Because these appear to be Palm Beach Autographs’ own mystery products, my recommendation would be to avoid placing duplicate players among such a small group of boxes. Friends or family members often buy mystery items together, and even if nobody pulls the biggest name, receiving different Hall of Famers would create a much better experience. The staff was friendly, and the store has an impressive selection. Unfortunately, after getting Artis Gilmore two years in a row and then pulling him from both boxes this year, we will no longer make these mystery jerseys part of our annual vacation tradition. In the future, we would rather put the money toward a specific signed item we know we want
