If you're anywhere near St. Augustine, do yourself a favor and stop by Paladar! My family and I had such a wonderful experience from start to finish. We ordered the Cuban sandwich, ham and cheese pastry sandwich, a cinnamon roll, and two bombón coffees—and every single thing was absolutely incredible. You could immediately tell that everything was made fresh with top-notch ingredients. The Cuban sandwich was packed with flavor, the ham and cheese pastry was perfectly flaky and delicious, and the cinnamon roll was soft, fresh, and just the right amount of sweet. Now let's talk about the bombón coffee... My husband and I are both huge coffee lovers, and without exaggeration, this was hands down the best variation of a cup of coffee we've ever had. Rich, smooth, perfectly balanced, and something we'll be thinking about for a long time! The people working here were warm, welcoming, and absolutely lovely. They made us feel right at home, giving the whole place such a genuine family atmosphere. There are tables both inside and outside, but we chose to dine in so we could soak up the cozy vibe. One little detail that stands out to me—the bathroom was absolutely spotless, which says a lot about how much pride they take in their restaurant. Paladar isn't just a place to grab a meal—it's the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again. Amazing food, unforgettable coffee, wonderful people, and a welcoming family feel. We can't wait for our next visit!
I see why the reviews are absolutely stellar for Paladar Cuban Eatery. This place absolutely rocks. The interior is such a vibe. Great music playing throughout. The decor is so thoughtful, even down to little table side fresh flowers. They have a nice covered patio dining area as well. But can we talk about the food? I tried out a Cubano and a guava and cheese pastry. The Cubano actually had sliced of roast pork which is very different than the pulled pork you get served at most places. It’s up there with some of the best Cubanos I’ve have in Tampa. But wait a minute. Their guava cheese pastry? Literally the best I’ve had in my life. Literally. Not an exaggeration. I can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu and more of their delicious pastries. What a gem of a place. Great people. Great food. Great vibes. 10/10.
What a delightful place! From robust flavors to wonderful atmosphere, we were thrilled from start to finish. We started with the ropa vieja and picadillo empanadas. Amazing flaky crust and well developed flavor. My husband had the grand Papa, a ONE POUND Cubano. Delicious! I had the Frita. It was hands down, the best "burger" I've ever had. We had cortaditos, bread pudding and the basque cheesecake for dessert. I typically skip dessert, but these were so beautiful I had to try. When I tell you don't skip the dessert, DON'T SKIP THE DESSERT. It was amazing! We took half of everything home and will be enjoying a repeat tomorrow!
If there was a ten stars raking I would definitely give it a 10 stars. And we only tried the empanadas, pastelitos, flan and croquetas. Everything was delicious 10/10 the ropa vieja empanada was one of my favorite, the meat is so well seasoned. The ham and cheese was delicious, and the cheese pastelito amazing. I can’t imagine all the other options they have. If you come to Saint Augustine this is a must try!
TL;DR - Excellent Cuban food, coffee and friendly service with chill vibe. Kid and dog friendly. Paladar has a cozy, relaxed indoor and outdoor space near the beach with friendly service and tasty authentic Cuban food. Coffee lovers can enjoy a variety of expected but well executed coffee favorites like Café Bon bon (my favorite) or another dark, delicious blend. I appreciated the mix of cultural staples like the empanada as well as the variety added by their special(s) of the day – Cuban ‘Benedict’ in my case. Food and drinks were flowing out of the kitchen constantly to expectant guests including kid and dog moms alike. Highly recommend.
