This was a beautiful place to go to. There is a church, chapel, and a giant cross. You can walk out to the cross (can't miss it as it's very tall), where they also have the stations of the cross around it. The cross overlooks the water, which makes the scene pictureperfect. There are various statues throughout the walk, like the crucifix. Additionally, there is a garden adjacent to a cemetery, and a chapel is there with Holy Mary inside. Apparently the chapel was made a long time ago, so it is also historical. There is also a shop and mini museum in the church building. Even if you aren't religious, I suggest coming to see the calm ambience and nature.
These pics don’t do it justice- but that is a rainbow ring around the sun. It was really spectacular to see. There were actually 3 complete circular rainbows around the sun. What a great start to the Eucharistic Pilgrimage!
The grounds are beautiful and serene. You hear the ocean breeze rustle the lush trees as you walk the path around the monument, cemetery and shrine. Nice and quiet, peaceful dare I say magical. The shrine itself is a living ancient ruin. It looked like something out of Lord of the Rings. Low and behold you can enter and sit in the pews, light a candle and or observe the catholic art. Such skill, talent, and blessings went to building restoring and maintaining of the shrine, it's really something to behold.
Beautiful church and grounds. Well worth it to walk the grounds and take in all the history of this place.
Absolutely breathtaking, first time there and was amazed on how much history about our Catholic faith.
