This provider is completely unreliable and causing serious delays for Veterans. I originally attended a C&P appointment here in early June, but they lacked the basic equipment required to complete my mandatory test and told me I’d have to reschedule. Since then, this facility has canceled my rescheduled appointment FOUR separate times. Each time, OptumServe contacts them to confirm availability, schedules the appointment, and then a day or two prior, the provider cancels due to "unavailability." This level of disorganization causes major delays in Veterans' claims processes. It's extremely disappointing and a massive waste of Veterans' time and resources.
One star. My experience with Optum's VA examination scheduling process has been extremely frustrating. Throughout the entire scheduling process, I have had only one restriction: I needed my examination completed before June 30, 2026, because I am scheduled to undergo open-heart bypass surgery. I repeatedly communicated this to Optum and made it clear that I was willing to attend any reasonable appointment before that date. My original examination was scheduled by Optum at a Walgreens clinic and was subsequently canceled. Optum then rescheduled me for July 14, after my bypass surgery, despite being advised that I would be recovering from a major cardiac procedure and unavailable. I had to call and explain the situation again. After that discussion, I was scheduled for an examination at the Optum office in Orange Park. I organized my records, prepared for a 1½-hour drive each way, and was preparing to leave for the appointment when it was canceled as well. I was then offered an appointment in Ocala on June 29, the day before my bypass surgery. Unfortunately, I was already scheduled for mandatory hospital pre-operative testing, including blood work and a chest X-ray. I explained that I could not physically be in two places at the same time. At that point, I had experienced two cancellations in three days, a post-surgery appointment, and an appointment that conflicted with mandatory pre-operative hospital testing, all despite repeatedly communicating the same single scheduling limitation. What was most concerning was hearing references to "failure to report" while appointments were being canceled before I ever had an opportunity to attend them. I remain willing to report for examination. My only request has been that the examination occur before June 30 due to my scheduled bypass surgery. When I attempted to discuss the issue and understand why this kept happening, I was told I was being rude. The call ended after I questioned how there could be any discussion of a failure to report when the appointments themselves were being canceled. Being direct and asking reasonable questions about repeated cancellations should not be treated as misconduct. Veterans preparing for major surgery should not have to navigate repeated cancellations, conflicting explanations, poor communication, and scheduling problems while actively trying to comply with the examination process. Very disappointing experience.
Good luck! Eye doctor for the disability exam was very rude, I have 6 civilian doctors in different states and cities all in agreement and he told me they are lying to me. Saying it’s in my head because my doctors are putting it there and making me believe it. What a joke
Absolutely would not recommend to any veteran. These people treat everyone like they are nothing and then will cancel your appointment the day of after you've waited 3 years to get an appointment like this from the VA. This place should never have the privilege of speaking with out veterans, much less treating or diagnosing our veterans, they don't care about anyone but their pocketbook.
I had maybe a five minute wait for my appointment but the staff were very professional and treated me with kindness and respect. My examiner was also very professional and respectful. Thank you guys.
