Absolutely unacceptable experience at Ocean Grove RV Resort in St. Augustine. We had reserved and fully paid for our RV sites in advance. Upon arrival, we were told our sites had been given away because we did not “lock in” specific spots—despite having confirmed reservations and working in good faith with staff member Ingrid, who was the only person even remotely helpful during this mess. Management was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. We were told our reservations would not be honored at all. We were then told we would be refunded, only to have that reversed after management claimed we were “yelling”—which was not the case. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, the situation escalated to the point where the St. Johns County Sheriff had to be called. After the deputy arrived and reviewed what was happening, even law enforcement advised the resort to refund us so we could leave and move on. Only after that intervention did we finally receive our refund. This is not what you expect from a resort that markets itself as a premium RV destination. Reservations should mean something, and guests should not have to fight to receive what they already paid for. We would strongly caution others: get everything in writing, confirm your site assignments repeatedly, and be prepared for last-minute changes that are not handled professionally. We ultimately left and found a significantly better experience elsewhere.
Beautiful RV resort! Sites with paver stones with a pool and a restaurant on site. Amazing scenery and it's the perfect location to watch the sun set. Easy 10 minute drive to the beach and a short drive to St. Augustine. Staff is helpful and very friendly. Looking forward to coming back again!
We stayed at the campground last week. The camp sites are awesome. Concrete pad and paver bricks. Campground is well maintained and employees are friendly. Convenient laundry room. Pool area and snack bar is clean. We enjoyed our stay
The only reason I am giving this RV resort five stars is because of a gentleman who works , Irish Mike! He truly is the best thing about this resort. He is so friendly and welcoming. We loved him from the moment we met him! There is another woman who works there named Deb. Twice while we were sightseeing, I asked her to do me a favor. The first one was to take about 10 steps Away from the reception desk to give me a phone number of a local shuttle service. The second time was to ask her to take another 10 to 12 steps to the mail room to see if an important package we were waiting on had arrived yet. She said that she was at the front desk and would not be able to help us. Not exactly the kind of customer service you could brag about. The sites aren’t really that spacious, putting it is a nice place.
Great place. Used to be a great place for campers but everything has changed. Pool is now open to public!! Little kids 3-4 yes, in the hot tub, unsupervised children running around. Looks like a lawsuit waiting to happen. Sorry to say but they are chasing out most of the long term campers. The restaurant up front is a hot mess. They provide there patrons wrist bands for the pool! For a price of course. Until they change don't waste your money here, there is no more resort left in this trailer park.
