  So I went to this salon with my best friend because of its good reviews. Walking in the environment was welcoming and the vibes were great. April, my stylist kept great conversation and was super nice. However, there were small red flags that I misinterpreted. In the beginning of our appointment April started with a consultation where I showed her inspiration pictures and a description of what I wanted. I made it clear during this consultation that if she could not do what I had in mind I was willing to compromise or just go somewhere else if she wasn’t confident. She told me that she could get very close to my inspo pictures, however it might be a little darker due to the box dye. I was okay with that. Then she had us sign a contract stating the price and the type of service we would be receiving. She also made me put down that I had box dye in my hair and that the results would vary. Now, I understand that getting dark brown box dye out of hair is not an easy task. However, that is why I was willing to spend an outrageous price of $540 including the $50 deposit on my hair in hopes that it could get fixed like she said that she could. During the appointment I felt like April was rushing through both my hair and my friends hair. For example, after the foils were put on, April stated that I had another 7-10 mins in the foils, then proceeded to take the foils off a minute later. As she was blow drying my hair I noticed that it was nothing like the inspo pictures and it actually looks very similar to what I came in with. I made it very clear that I absolutely did not want orange streaks in my hair which can be hard because when brown box dye lifts, it sometimes comes out orange. Anyways I ended up walking out with orange streaks in my hair. At checkout, she added on a bunch of products and made it seem like we were getting the products with the service but then out total was almost $800 each. I work in sales and I know this is a popular sales tactic but honestly is just comes off as shady to me. My friend and I paid $540 each and neither one of us like our hair. I even tried to talk to April about how it’s honestly nothing like the inspiration photos and she then started arguing with me and blaming it on the lighting, to which we then went outside and I looked the same and then proceeded to blame it on the box dye. But that’s the thing, I didn’t come into this salon and pay $540 to walk out with orange streaks in my hair, box dye or not. April then said that it would probably take 2-3 more sessions to get where I wanted so we’re talking about $1620 and over a year of processing to get where I want? Absolutely not. Overall, very disappointed. I had high hopes because of how personable April was but that was about the only good thing. If you are looking to pay $540 for a good convo come here, if you want your hair done you’re better off at great clips. I attached both inspo photos and what my hair turned out like below.
