I stayed waayyy too long given how many “mistakes” and or “mishaps” they had. I’m not one to really write reviews, unless they’re positive I’d rather spread positivity an if you have a bad experience somewhere usually it’s just a one time scenario an I usually brush it off. But this office overall has awful communication skills and terrible advice. For example, I had low glucose due to my pregnancy, which I never experienced prior. I eat high protein an a pretty balanced diet. But I was having symptoms of low blood sugar, (dizziness, light headed, and I was having trouble sleeping) so I started monitoring with a glucose monitor. I notified the office which I spoke to a nurse. The DOCTOR said to the nurse that I should stop monitoring it unless I had an active symptom and to just eat more protein without asking how much I was even eating… that was it! Hey I’m having symptoms they literally said just stop paying attention to it.. I am a previous bodybuilder. I track my food to make sure I’m getting good vitamins and enough food. I have been eating around 170g per day. Soo girl so you want me to pass out then check to see? Yeah goodbye LOL an actual joke. Not to mention low glucose can affect my baby.. this is only one of many scenarios where I was like I gotta leave. But I was able to fix my glucose by MONITORING it my damn self. An now I sleep through the night. They literally know nothing abt nutrition and or how to take care of a pregnant woman. They’re rude, unorganized, and I highly suggest not going.
I am writing this review as a pregnant patient who has experienced both poor clinical care and deeply concerning billing practices at OBGYN Associates of St. Augustine. Clinical Experience: I was in and out of the office for my first prenatal appointment, which lasted under 25 minutes. For a first OB visit, this is far below the standard of care. I also suffered a miscarriage the year prior, so feeling heard and supported was extremely important to me. I felt dismissed and unheard during what should have been a thorough, patient-centered appointment. Edit: I also wanted to add that I had no ultrasound done at the first appointment because, and I quote, "I couldn't get an ultrasound tech to come in and do an ultrasound on a Friday afternoon". My appointment was before 3 PM on a Friday, and it made me feel like even more of a burden in this office. A lot of the lights were turned off in the hallways (clearly showing I was one of the last appointments of the day), and only one other person was working in that wing. I didn't realize offices don't really want patients booking on Friday afternoons, even though their office is open until the early evening. Billing & Insurance Issues: I paid $330 at the time of my initial visit. What followed was a months-long ordeal involving conflicting information from both this office and my insurance company. I was told prior authorization was required before my claim could be submitted. Obtaining that authorization — as a pregnant patient — took significant time, stress, and effort, finding a primary care office as they are booked months out for new patients. Once I finally secured prior authorization and contacted OBGYN Associates, I was told they would not submit the claim because it had been more than 90 days from the date of service. I contacted my insurance company directly, which confirmed that providers typically have closer to 180 days to bill. The 90-day cutoff is this office's own internal policy. This is particularly harmful because in the state of Florida, the insurance company I have does not permit patients to submit out-of-network claims independently, and this must be done by the doctor's office. Their refusal to bill my initial office visit on my behalf has caused significant stress as I have been extremely patient with this OBGYN office, going to other doctor appointments to obtain prior authorization, and constantly calling my insurance company, in hopes they would uphold their dedication to billing my initial date of service. I feel extremely targeted by this office, as I obviously did not continue care with them after my initial visit. I have a background in medical billing and have spoken with multiple professionals in the insurance industry. The consensus is that this situation — providing conflicting guidance, allowing time to lapse, and then citing an internal policy to avoid submission — is simply not patient-forward. All I have asked is for my date of service to be billed to my insurance company. That request has been denied. Prospective patients deserve to know this before choosing this practice. This is absolutely not a patient-forward office, and I would NOT recommend anyone to this office. My insurance company advised me to file a grievance against this office in hopes it would reach a simple resolution of billing my initial date of service to the insurance company for potential reimbursement. I'm not even asking for OBGYN Associates to give me any of my money back; all I am simply asking is for one single date of service to be billed in hopes it would show their support in patients being able to access equal health care.
PLEASE DO NOT GO TO OBGYN ASSOCIATES!!! I have never in my life felt more like a number to a doctor’s office. They care about money and not much else! Yes, I understand insurance is the patients responsibility! But you are telling me that you can see I am no longer covered under United and Humana Medicaid is saying they’re my secondary. Which obviously will change, Humana has provided case numbers stating the issue will be resolved and you will absolutely be paid and you still want to “delay” aka refuse care unless I pay $4100 as a private pay patient! They’ve treated me like a thief and a nuisance! It’s appalling because I know so many people, including my own mother and sister who had gone through their pregnancies with great care before UF HEALTH took over! I have come in for a scheduled appointment and been brought into a room after waiting 20 minutes, to be told that I would have to wait indefinitely to see a provider because she was in delivery! We waited an hour before leaving. Paid $300 that day to sit in a room, taking off work, for nothing. I understand delivery happens, but no one should ever be scheduled with an on call provider and then just not seen. They will cancel your appointment if you’re 2 minutes late but expect you to sit in a room and wait on a provider with zero communication until you’ve already been roomed. I’ve done everything in my power that I knew to do so I could continue to receive healthcare for my unborn child, the messages are out of desperation so they do not withhold care which evidently is not seen as an issue by the CLINICAL STAFF per the response I received. Please please please, find an office who cares! Because for all of the people who have great experiences with them, one like mine is too many!
Amazing!! I would recommend this practice to anyone. They took care of me my whole pregnancy up until birth. I had such a pleasant birth experience and couldn’t have been in better hands Naomi Sullivan is amazing!!
was given incorrect information by the scheduling person regarding annual exam versus discussing hormone replacement therapy. slow response time on portal messages. should have been called in a timely manner that my labs didn't come in as expected instead of me having to repeatedly message about them. confusion about labs & separate appointments for annual exam vs HRT. i don't like that i can't call & actually speak to someone on the phone, forced to text or message - which i consider poor customer service. thankfully ms long cleared everything up & delivered excellent care. will probably switch to a different provider/company next year because it's always a headache to make appointments & communicate! i hate that i must switch to a different provider because of office issues, but honestly it's simply too much of a hassle every time i deal with the office staff over the years....
