I have clear sign on my door that says no soliciting, no religion, no politics. Today we get some Easter eggs put on our door with an invitation. While I understand the gesture is not meant to be bad, we are a Christian household that celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are not lukewarm pagans celebrating a holiday for Ishtar the pagan goddess of fertility where the tradition of rabbits and eggs comes from. Now I have to explain to my daughter why she can’t have the candy from the eggs and she’s crying. So I’m the bad guy because I don’t know who gave us this random candy, who prayed over it, what’s in it, and that we do not engage in any sort of pagan perversion of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. I know you may think all things are lawful to you but not all things are good for you. Mixing paganism with the gospel is an insult to Jesus and I will not stand for it in my home. I own All-Star Youth Sports and Championship Martial Arts right next door to North Harbor Church. As their neighbor, I've had the pleasure of working alongside them and Pastor Herbert on several community events. North Harbor truly cares about the Oceanway area and is always looking for ways to make a difference. While I attend a different church in the area, if I were looking for a new place to worship, I’d definitely check out North Harbor!
We are members of this church and love the family atmosphere. The Pastor greets us every Sunday morning by name and genuinely cares about us. He finishes off each sermon by reminding us to "Make Jesus a Big Deal" Monday-Saturday and not just on Sunday.
I am so glad we finally found a church that offers something for our teen daughters. My girls look forward to attending Salt & Light on Wednesday nights and said that the leaders and Student Pastor are so nice. If you have teens, I highly recommend checking them out.
You won’t find a better church than North Harbor Church. If you’re looking for authenticity, community, humility, truth, and a welcoming environment - this is the church for you. 10/10 recommend it.
