I absolutely love everything about Nefertiti Books and Gifts! The entire space is adorned with educational books, healthy products and handmade African goods that make you feel at home. Not to mention, this black-owned bookstore exudes warmth, peace, positivity and all things healing. I love the Afrocentric atmosphere and amazing owner Naseema Maat. I always receive wisdom, support and high quality goods each time I visit. I am extremely grateful that Mrs. Maat kindly accepted my collection of books in the store and local authors are always encouraged to host book signings. Stop by and buy black!
An out of town family member was excited to visit this bookstore and we drove her 25 mins to the opposite side of town only to find the doors locked and phone calls going straight to voicemail. The store sign said it opens at 11:00 and we arrived at 11:30. We were so disappointed. ☹️
A great resource for a wonderful variety of African-American literature for both children and adults. They even have a unique selection of jewelry and fashionable clothing items. The store owner is so pleasant and personable making the shopping experience a pure delight.
Lots of unique and ethnic books. You can find books by national and local authors, so if you're looking to give back to the community or just a good book to read, stop by the store to see what you may find.
Visited for a book signing but discovered so much more. This store has a variety of books, clothing, jewelry, incense, Shea butter, cosmetics, and accessories that caters to the African diasporic culture. Plus Ms. Nefertiti is very resourceful, kind, and provided great customer service. This establishment is definitely worth a visit.
