Pretty solid course overall. The first hole is a nice warm up but the basket is positioned right on a slope so half my group had their putts roll way past. Lots of tight wooded shots further in which i really liked. Maybe clear out a few more of those low hanging branches on the back nine some are a real disc eater.
This is the most beautiful and easy disc golf course I ever tried to play. However, the gnats are so ravenous, we quit and left at the 7th pad. It's a 20+ pad course! The weather was perfect for JULY, but these gnats don't care about your bug spray! I have been to city parks that shared property with county fairgrounds and have never experienced gnats like these. Is there a rotting orchard nearby? What is with these gnats?? City of Elkin, please submit a grant request for pest control. This is an amazing and wonderful disc golf course and deserves year-round enjoyment.
First round ever in Florida for me. Why's I have to pick June? Yes, it was hot. It was humid. Worse yet, the gnats. They make it tough to lock in when putting. Those negatives, however, are not the courses fault. Its a well designed, open, yet fairly technical course. No hole, I would say, was overly difficult, but they kept it interesting by tucking pins behind trees, or just in the tree-line. Nothing too cheeky, or unfair, but just tricky enough to keep you on your toes. Parking, minimal, and turns out some of the course is closed when the fair is going on, as 12 holes run thru the fairgrounds. But a nice course. Just be sure to stay hydrated kids
Great disc golf course with lots of space. Some fun decor spread throughout the course. Has a few unique holes. Only issue is bugs are a real problem throughout the warmer months. Definitely wear bug spray. Well maintained and holes are well marked and easy to follow. Available on udisc app.
Moccasin Creek Disc Golf Course, located in Elkton Florida, was a challenging but fair course. It boasts 25 holes of golf, which includes 7 additional holes after the famed lighthouse hole. There is one hole that is hanging in a tree and the 18th lighthouse hole that is extremely elevated. The course was well maintained and pretty open. Give this one a try!!
