Missing Piece Behavioral Solutions

Missing Pieces was truly a blessing for our family. From the very beginning, my son felt so loved and supported—he would run into the center each day with joy! Marlee and her amazing team didn’t just provide ABA therapy; they became an essential part of our son’s village and second family. Marlee went above and beyond by also providing support in his school setting. She kept me updated with valuable insight, especially during a time when he had a long-term substitute teacher. She was a strong advocate for him during IEP and behavior plan meetings, making sure his needs were not just heard but fully addressed. Thanks to their care and dedication, my son showed incredible improvement in peer play, positive behaviors, speech and communication, and even his occupational skills. Marlee, being part of a military family herself, truly understood our lifestyle and continued to check in with us via FaceTime even after our PCS. That kind of love and commitment is rare and unforgettable. If you are looking for a team that will love your child like their own and truly invest in their growth and success, Missing Pieces is where you want to be.

My short experience with Missing Pieces was not what I had hoped to expect. I will first say that Marlee seems to be a good caring person who tries her best to take care of all children that comes in her reach. However, I am very very disappointed on the lack of therapist support that she has under her stewardship. I’m more disappointed because I did explain to her the past experiences I had with other therapists out of state prior to me and my family moving to Jacksonville (which wasn’t pleasant, as they did not fulfill their promises). In our first meeting with Marlee my wife expressed to her the importance of having a therapist at the house to do training with our son; mainly because we do also have a new born daughter and it would give us insight on how ABA therapy is done. Per Marlee, that was something that she agreed to do until the new center opened up in which we were promised an invite for open house and we never received it. It seemed like opening the new center was a way of escaping from actually having a therapist to come over to our house. On the morning of David’s second visit at the center, I told Marlee that I wanted to discuss David’s plan going forward with services after I pick him up on Friday. Friday afternoon comes to pick David up and I discover that Marlee is gone for the day. Four weeks has elapsed and I finally hear from Marlee in an email stating that she unable to find a therapist for my son. Again, I truly believe Marlee means well, but based on my encounters with her, she has no business running her own clinic and needs more experience underneath another clinic with someone supervising her and the other therapist that are working alongside of her. As a military family, we do not have time to be waiting on “what ifs or maybe’s.” It’s either “can you support us now or not.” All we’re looking for is honesty. It seems that most ABA clinics nowadays, do not properly have enough manning to support enough children and they know it, therefore parents are being stuck with lies about how they can support, when in actuality they can’t and all the clinics are concentrating on is making money off of the insurance companies.

My experience with Missing Piece has been wonderful. Marlee, Erica and the team have been amazing with my little girl. Her speech intelligibility has gone from barely one word that could be comprehended by others to almost 4 word phrases! Her behavior has improved, she is increasingly nice to her siblings and peers and shows remorse. She potty trained with them at just over 3 and it only took about 2 weeks to go without accidents! They are flexible and adaptable to our family's needs. I found out today that insurance might preclude us from continuing care and I just need others to know how great they are! Thank you team and hopefully I can find a way to continue her there.

My toddler will be 3 in July and starting K3 in August and a requirement is that he is fully potty trained. This prompted me to seek assistance from Missing Piece. Mrs.Crawford gave us the best tools and tips to getting our little one potty trained. It took less than a week to have him trained to go #1 and a little over a week to have him trained to got #2 on the potty. She was extremely helpful throughout the entire process with any questions we had and I am extremely grateful for that. Although we just utilized her services for potty training, with her level of professionalism and how knowledgeable she is, I would recommend her all the different services she provides. I am highly impressed and satisfied with my experience with Missing Piece!
