I was a patient here since I moved to Saint John's county 4 years ago. I was happy with my doctor, he understood my complex group of diagnoses. It wasn't until he suddenly disappeared and I was never informed until I made my next appointment. They just stuck me with a new physician and the treatment was subpar. The doctor wouldn't listen to what I was saying, ordered a test i didn't need, jumped to conclusions, suddenly told me to be quiet after asking me a question that couldn't be answered with yes or no. Rolled her eyes at me when I wasn't interested in a biologic. Then decided to cut me off of my medication that I've been taking for over 30 years. Gave some crap excuse, then Millennium office manager calls and parrots the same thing. I was offered to see another NEW provider there. The first time I went I sat waiting for an hour and half. They claimed there wasn't any room available except I saw everyone that I walked in with come and go. I rescheduled. I got a call 40 mins before my appointment asking my reason for the appointment. My response Labs and medication refill. She immediately brought up the medication the other doctor cut me off of. I indicted yes, I was told I could see another provider for it. Again she made sure to parrot the same crap, but I still took the appointment as I had labs I needed to review. That provider said the same excuse as the office manager and other physician. When I told her that I knew of another patient who is on similar medication and they fill the same medication as mine for her, no questions asked. She blamed her advising physician as she's a NP. So once again the buck gets passed. Not even taking her own responsibility for denying my medication. They didn't take the time to look at how long I've been taking this medication that's been a huge help in my health. They may have given me a bridge but not being weaned off this medication can cause seizures. So much for that hypocratic oath, instead they're just a bunch of hypocrits. Its a shame because the NP seemed kind and knowledgeable. Bravo on making a disabled patient start over when my history itself (that you can see if you pull my chart up) should show you I'm responsible with all my meds from all the doctors i need to see. Just because you're against certain medications doesn't mean that shouldn't be used and that they don't work. Bringing in your personal opinions into someone's long term health care is just wrong. BTW Dr. Smith needs to take a class on empathy and compassion. She may be book smart but she lacks human connection.
Everyone that I have worked with here exhibits a level of caring that I have never experienced with past providers. The staff in the front office is warm and welcoming when you arrive and friendly and professional right up to end of my visit. Dr. Smith and Nurse Eleana provide direct access for questions and follow up information about tests, prescriptions, and other matters concerning my health. I have never had a phone call directly from any doctor I have seen until I began working with Dr. Smith. She makes me feel like we are partners in my health care plan. Thank you St. Augustine MPG for your outstanding care. Highly recommend this practice.
35 y/o male here. I was treated with respect and dignity from the moment I limped in the front door. The first thing I noticed was how clean and organized the front desk was. Jennifer Ritschl, DNP, FNP-C and the team took great care of me. The best part was having a clear and precise plan that I understood when I was leaving. Thank you all so much…. The Front to the exit desk was so clean and organized I have no worries about my personal information being absconded.
Wow! Great first experience. Everyone was excellent from first call to become a new patient, to front desk, screening, Dr. Smith, follow up scheduling, to Prescription and Referrals. Easy to fill out forms online, and seen on time with patience and active listening. I already have my prescriptions in hand, blood work scheduled, Referrals scheduled, follow ups ready and advice in action. I left feeling confident and optimistic which is great for a veteran.
Excellent doctors here, came highly recommended, my doctor is Kari Smith MD. The staff is friendly and efficient but must be mindful of all patients at all times in the waiting rooms, especially when they have computer glitches. My second visit and I’m very pleased with the services received from this practice. Hats off to them, they do have their preventative & integrative hats on, this means success to a patient overall health!👏👍🌹
