I dont understand the bad reviews at all. I'm an old boomer who hates doctors and hospitals but I have no problems with Dr Barros and his staff. They are straightforward and tell you what you need to do. If you want coddling talk to your mother, if you want answers talk to Dr Barros
Avoid at all costs. I would give zero stars but Google won't let me. During my first visit I was given a diagnosis code of "mild alcohol use disorder" for drinking alcohol occasionally because he couldn't find where to put "mild alcohol use" in the notes. I was given a diagnosis of recurrent (3+ episodes per year) chronic (lasting 12 weeks or more) sinusitis for reporting that once a year or so I get sinus and other infections that last about a week, often in my sinuses specifically due to ear infection or dental issues. Lab result came back with a fasting glucose level of 109 which is a warning for prediabetes but instead he continuously said it was within a normal 70-126 (which is wrong), never asked about other potential symptoms like frequent urination or constant thirst, had the gall to say "say your the doctor now" when I told him that information was not correct, and after all that still put in my chart that my test result "is within the range of pre-diabetes". My cholesterol levels were high but he had no advice to give except "less fat, less carbs" without even asking what my diet was like and without mentioning other changes such as exercise and weight management even though I am overweight. And these are not the only issues. He was condescending, interrupted constantly when trying to discuss or explain symptoms, and I have zero confidence in his abilities or skills.
I'm very upset that I had my most painful experience of my life due to not getting the correct care when I had my appointments here. I was very straightforward about my issue, and weary to take the general antibiotics before I had the cultures back. Then I come in for my results, there was still a trace amount of bacteria left after the antibiotics administered but I was never prescribed anything further to kill the bacteria causes a slew of uncomfortable symptoms. A couple months later I'm in the ER, missed out on work, and have to go through this process again with antibiotics which is what I didn't want to begin with. I came here because I am going through a health crisis and I needed care that would prevent further issues, for pain and monetary purposes. On top of that the whole front office was rude to me, and had such an attitude when I was confused about needing to get 3rd party labs. I had my labs done in office at every other Millenium office I've ever been to so this wasn't clear to me. I got charged for an additional appointment I didn't need after coming in fasted to get my labs done. Printing out a lab order like all the other times previous did not appropriately inform me of the process and thats a basic misunderstanding but how it was handled when I brought it up, explaining that this extra cost means a lot to me at this time is what I don't appreciate. I hope that this helps service to be changed and improved in the future.
Worst doctor’s office I have ever been to. Ever. They’re all burnt out and the patient experience is low on their list of priorities. Ironically, they expect you to make a follow up appointment.
