Midori Sushi & Grill

We have ordered for delivery over the years and this place used to be top of the line. We would order from here on special occasions. Now I guess to save money, they have removed numerous items and the food is now not worth the money we pay. The fried rice used to have several ingredients, now only has light brown rice and tiny pieces of egg, nothing else. The ginger salad used to have other vegetables but is now only lettuce with dressing. The hibachi entrees used to have lots of protein with the vegetables, now have few of the protein yet the price is higher than before. This place has gone downhill which is disappointing.

It has been an extreme Challenge trying to find decent hibachi. My husband did a Google Search and found this place. Had 4.2 Stars so we said why not give it a try. We were greeted by a very kind host and because the restaurant was empty we were able to sit anywhere. Try not to let the fact that no one was in the restaurant at 6:30 p.m. during dinner time phase me too much but maybe that was a first sign. Food came out pretty fast and with pretty large portions. I ordered the chicken hibachi can my husband had the steak hibachi. I have a pretty sensitive nose and from the time my plate sat down in front of me something did not smell right. Nonetheless I went ahead and tasted my food. The chicken add a different texture from any kind of chicken that I've had before. Very chewy and stretchy. I tried the rice in the vegetables and not only this time was it smelling bad it was tasting bad. It was not spoiled or anything like that. The best way to describe it is as if it was cooked on a grill that had been cleaned with chemical prior to. It was all in the Teriyaki sauce, the chicken had the same taste and the rice and vegetables. So this time I just tried to eat the rice. Still couldn't get past the smell. I really wanted to give this place five stars but I don't know if this was just a bad night or the dish I had but my husband's rice smell the same. Brought the leftovers home to my daughter and I didn't tell her about my experience. This morning when she woke up she asked where in the hell did I get my Hibachi from. She said that she added the yum yum sauce to try to mask the taste but after a few bites she just couldn't. She experienced the same thing that I did but she didn't think it was chemical. I'd love to know if anyone else has experienced this. I was too embarrassed to let her know I didn't like it and to just refund so I just took it home

Tried the beef udon stir fry with plum sake. Definitely reccomend, especially the sake. Very smooth with fruity and floral notes but not dry.

I came here with my daughter for her birthday. She wanted sushi and our regular restaurant (closer to our home) was closed. Because it was her birthday, I had to make ends meet. This place probably had the BEST hibachi in Jax! I was so surprised! The hibachi was so amazing I didn’t even want to try their sushi! lol! My daughter loved her sushi, but their hibachi was amazinggggggg!!!!
