Was in town at a speaking engagement, Angel Rivera is the man! He executed what I wanted perfectly and all I did was show him a picture. Mel’s Old City Barbershop is extremely clean and I had a great time conversing with Angel, Edwin, and Dallas. What a wonderful group of the most amazingly young entrepreneurs. Thank you Angel for taking care of me while out on business and it’s huge because I was so skeptical and out of my comfort zone. Highest quality ever. I moved from DC to Florida recently. Went here three times—Angel, Christian, and Dallas. Beyond the best I’ve ever had. They take their time, no panic or rush, meticulous, best of the best. This will be my go-to barber. 10/10
Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with the haircut I received. Perhaps it’s because the shop primarily specializes in fades, but I would still expect the sides to be even. One side ended up being about 2 inches longer than the other and was uneven all around. I didn’t realize how uneven it was until I got home and my hair had dried, since it wasn’t blow-dried at the shop. I’ll now have to go somewhere else to have it corrected. I paid $35 for this haircut and was extremely disappointed with the result. I would not recommend this place based on my experience.
Was visiting from Tampa and needed a cut. Dallas took me in last minute and got me right! Great spot and great service!
I am currently going through chemotherapy and my hair started falling out and I decided to go ahead and have it shaved off. The experience was wonderful they were compassionate. I walked in feeling scared and walked out with dignity. Thank you to everyone for all your kindness. Sincerely, Lisa
