I have always had wonderful experiences with the actual hospital at Mayo Clinic, but the primary care office is a completely different story. Since moving to Florida this is the only hospital I have been to. Dealing with this clinic has become an ongoing source of frustration due to a severe lack of communication and accessibility. The biggest issue is the inability to speak directly with your actual provider or their immediate team. Phone calls are routinely routed to an external partner or a centralized nursing line. These representatives act merely as note-takers; they cannot answer specific questions, expedite requests, or move processes forward. I have repeatedly experienced a severe disconnect between the nurses and providers, which has directly caused lapses in my medication and uncompleted paperwork. It is incredibly frustrating that I have actually had to book and pay for appointments just to get standard forms filled out or get a question answered because no one would respond to phone calls. Furthermore, the patient portal/app is highly inefficient. Response times drag anywhere from 24 hours to a full week plus. When you finally do get a response, it is almost never from the same person you initially talked to. Instead, you are forced to re-explain your situation over text to a rotating staff of unfamiliar nurses who have no context of your history, rather than being able to quickly resolve the issue over a standard phone call. Mayo Clinic prides itself on top-tier service, but the primary care model here is nothing short of a hassle every single time I interact with it. It makes routine healthcare management feel nearly impossible. While the hospital itself is great, the primary care administrative and communication pipeline desperately needs to be restructured.
I love Mayo. But the primary care on Ozark is little to be desired. The front ladies never smile to say hello anytime I have ever been there. They are very cold and short. And Everytime I get blood draw the lab person is always chomping away on gum and it sounds gross.
I am so very impressed with the Mayo primary care office and the staff there. Everyone is very kind and professional and I get the very best care that I’ve ever received in my 78 years. I’ve been to many other professional offices, but this one certainly does outperform them ALL, and I am so very blessed to be a patient at Mayo primary care.
Leaving this review specifically for Kat who handles appointment phone calls. She was extremely kind and friendly, and really went out of her way to make me feel comfortable and help me find the soonest appointment for my issue. I've never left a review for something like this before but something has to be said about her, she is wonderful!
I called Mayo Clinic to make appointment with primary care physician. I am a patient of Mayo Clinic. When I pressed option to make appointment , the phone kept disconnecting(4 attempts). I called 5 th time to make appointment and someone came on phone , got my name and date of birth & placed me on phone for 10 minutes so I hanged up phone and now I have to call again. Mayo Clinic is most expensive and accepting only good insurances so should provide good customer service to their patients. I called today from 2:10 pm to 2:20 pm . Waster 10 minutes without any result.
