Yeah, the date is incorrect on certain' photos but, it's fine! Anyway, I was supposed to be doing work here, and apparently! I have yet to be called back. I mean, it's nice for food & the volunteers are amazing! But I want to do volunteer work here. And it can be tedious getting (anything involving work from them.) Overall 3 stars *** Edit: Oh! I love the pumpkin patch and taking pics of the woman Amy who does them every year around (Halloween Time.) Which were $3 for $5 sale at the stand BTW, So… I'll change to 4 stars **** then. Another Edit: Happy Halloween! Even though (Halloween was last Sunday.) LMFAO Last 3 pics all (Oct, 2021) & NOT (Jan, 2017)
These people are so wonderful! They don't treat you bad because you need a little help. They also work very hard to get all their clients through at a good pace. The food is wonderful and healthy! I am hoping this will be my last time needing them. Hoping that we can figure out everything to pay them back for all the help they have us so in turn they can bless others! Thank you for everything! My family really appreciated your generosity!
Volunteers are nice, kind and they truly try their best to accommodate special requests. I'm grateful they provide you with about 5-6 cans of pet food. However, the current economic climate is making it incredibly hard to get by. Because I'm only allowed one visit per month, the supplies provided simply don't stretch far enough. The 1/2 dozen eggs (cause the cut the dozen in half), small portions of meat (3 chicken breasts & 3 sausages), the bread and deli items must be eaten quick in like 3-5 days before they spoil, and the 10-15 cans do not last the whole full month. Also, they do not provide you with any can meats. Since I don't qualify for public assistance like SNAP but still have two dependents at home to support, I find myself skipping meals through the month in order for my kids to eat and/or having to make extremely hard decisions like "should I pay JEA, car, rent, meds or buy groceries?"... I'm caught in a difficult gap where local zip-code-restricted resources are my only option, yet they aren't enough to provide full food security for an entire month but expect us to. I am truly grateful for the help, but the reality is that the need is currently greater than what a single monthly visit can provide.
The Mandarin Food Bank has been a LIFESAVER for my family and I!! The volunteers are amazing and SO helpful!!
This place is great for the community. Great people.
