I didn't use the restroom but ever seemed clean and tables were cleaned swiftly. We were greeted immediately and with a nice welcoming. The environment is clean and comfortable. The service was great and the server even volunteered an update on our meal instead of avoiding our eyes. The veggie salad roles were action packed with flavor and obviously freshly prepared! The phò flavor was perfectly developed and any more than a touch of pepper sauce would ruin it. They have a zippy bright house sauce that puts the old recipe Sriracha into the ketchup category. Because the food was so perfect, I went the next step and ordered the duck banh mi. I cyphered out that it would take a mildly skilled person 3 minutes to prepare it. It took 25 minutes and there very few diners. By the time it came we were less impressed. Aside from that bit of experience, this was a great place for fresh, lovingly prepared food. Thank you.
We came here Saturday night, 8/22, for dinner. The dining area is connected to another French restaurant, and the whole space has a very modern, artistic feel. The dim lighting and decor create a really nice ambiance. Our service was great throughout the night, they got a big wine selection. The drinks from the bar were also amazing, so definitely a plus. Unfortunately, the food was where things fell a little short for us. We were actually looking for some authentic pho in the area, so we were excited to try it. Unfortunately, the pho broth came out extremely dark, the noodles were overcooked and already breaking apart, and the overall flavor was pretty bland. It just wasn’t what we were expecting from a good bowl of pho. The curry chicken was another disappointment. The sauce was very watery instead of having the rich, creamy consistency you’d normally expect from a curry. We also tried the Yummy Yummy cake, which was actually delicious. However, the presentation was pretty basic. It was basically just a piece of cake with some sauce on the side to pour over it. For a restaurant with such a beautiful atmosphere, I expected a little more creativity in the presentation. We were also celebrating an important occasion that night. We asked if they offered anything special for celebrations, but we were told they don’t provide any complimentary treats or special touches for occasions. Of course, that’s not something every restaurant has to offer, but it would have been a nice touch and would have made the experience feel a little more special. Overall, I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the drinks, and the service. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a great vibe. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the look and feel of the place. For us, the food wasn’t as authentic or appealing as we hoped it would be. There was a disconnect between the beautiful setting and what was actually being served. If you’re coming specifically for authentic pho or looking for a restaurant for a special celebration, I’d keep that in mind before making a decision.
Had drinks and early dinner at the bar for the first time and the experience was excellent! Tried the dumplings and they had the perfect amount of ginger and soy. For the main course I went with the rice noodles with chicken thighs. The meat was tender as well as the noodles. Everything went together really well. Colleen and Dave were great and their drinks were delicious! The owner (Johnny) even checked in to make sure everything was good. Will definitely be back!
Great hidden gem in Saint Augustine! The atmosphere was classy, not crowded or loud, even on a Thursday night. Staff were very attentive. Almost all the dishes were gluten allergy friendly, so our whole family could share the meal. Very shareable, we split five dishes between the six of us and had the perfect amount of food. HIGHLY recommend the Yellow Curry and Shaking Beef (not GF, but the most tender beef!) The parking is a bit confusing though, as the entrance to the restaurant is in the back of “The French Pantry”, we thought we had gone to the wrong place. But if you just keep walking around the back you will find it! Overall best dining experience we’ve had in Saint Augustine! Will definitely be back!
Our tastebuds were excited!!! Delicious foods from the old world family’s recipes. The shrimp Spring rolls were fresh, the PHO and Vermecelli noodles bowl were amazing! Our server Colin was super! The sweetest lady owner came out to speak to us. The Atmosphere was well decorated and inviting. Free On spot parking behind the restaurant, which is rare for this area. We highly recommended this gem restaurant, and will return!
