Where do I start off...Chastity is the best! I needed a camera within 24 hours of a very important graduation. She was able to accommodate me and the whole process was easy and fast. If you need to rent equipment, get it from Lensfly! I've seen other reviews for this business and most of them complain about communication issues and a slow process with paperwork, but in my situation it was not the case. Lensfly had great/fast communication through email and phone calls. Mind you my situation required me to act fast and Chastity accepted the challenge was the a HUGE help. disclaimer: I am a photography hobbyist who had owned and operated a photography business in the past.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with this shop nearly derailed a commercial film production and I feel other professionals deserve fair warning before relying on them for time-sensitive work. I was filming commercially out of state and this was the only rental house in the area. From the very first phone call, the woman I dealt with was curt and dismissive. I pushed past that because I had no other local option — the next closest rental house was in another state. The ordering process was rigid and poorly communicated. I had legitimate questions before completing each step, but every time I called for clarification I was met with attitude. The COI (certificate of insurance) process was particularly frustrating — it took multiple days largely because the shop was slow to communicate exactly what they needed, which caused delays with my insurance providers. By the time I had everything in order, the shop was closed for the day. I submitted the COI after hours and was told everything was lined up — they just needed to confirm a pickup time. I called first thing the next morning - the day I needed to have the gear picked up - before catching a flight to the shoot location. That is when I was told the gear would not be ready until noon the following day. For anyone who works in production, you understand why this is unacceptable: filming days run with daylight, and gear is always picked up the evening before or early morning of — not halfway through the shoot day. When I explained this, the co-owner told me — and I am paraphrasing only slightly — that she had repeat in-state clients and was not concerned about losing my business, even if this made her company look bad. That response says everything you need to know about how this business values its customers. I ultimately called a rental house back in my home state, had them pack the gear so I could carry it on the plane, and they saved the production. This shop very nearly cost me a client, a full crew, and an ongoing commercial contract. If you are a local hobbyist with flexible timing, perhaps this shop works for you. If you are a working professional with a crew, a client, and a schedule that cannot slip — look elsewhere.
