We have experienced this beautiful place twice..once as a guest for a big birthday party and once again when it was our own wedding party/reception(about 125 people) and both times our experience was fantastic. Such a wonderful and beautiful property. Michael was more than helpful on several occasions prior to our event. She is meticulous about the property and wanting everything to go perfect for your special event. She was very very helpful prior as well as the day of our event. We had food catered in from Iguanas on Park and everything went perfect. The DJ that Michael recommended was exceptional and played all the songs we requested. The price was more than reasonable even considering our party was in June. Michaels staff helped clean up the area after the party and Michael even sent us a thank you note after our party. Very professional. Honestly, our party was almost flawless and I can’t imagine how it could have went better. We will definitely use Michael Av and this property again. I have noticed that many of the negative reviews are all from the same family. Do not let that scare you away. This was a great experience.
What a cute venue!!! Michael was amazing at answering any questions we had and the space is so perfectly quaint while still having a modern feel. If I wasn’t already married it would be my dream wedding venue.
Le Jardin on Park, a historical garden venue in Jacksonville owned by Michael Myatt, is a hidden treasure that made my first birthday in America an unforgettable experience. Celebrating in July, the venue's lush garden and historical charm created a picturesque setting. Michael and her team were incredibly thoughtful in understanding my Indian heritage, making the event meaningful and personal. From the décor to the delectable Indian cuisine, every detail honored my traditions. The warmth and hospitality shown by Michael made me feel like family, and her attention to detail ensured a flawless celebration. Le Jardin on Park is a true gem, where history and culture blend seamlessly. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking an elegant venue and cherished memories for their special occasions.
Very poor experience with the owner. She is nice until you pay her the deposit and then it's another story. She is disorganized, frenzied, made a number of arbitrary rules two weeks away from the event, and lied about several details straight to our face. Some of the comments she made to my husband were laughably unhinged. Her communication is unprofessional and completely rude once she has your money. We ended up cancelling the event last minute and having it elsewhere (a huge headache) because we worried that she'd make our guests uncomfortable with her aggressive communication style. I really regret not taking the reviews seriously and I wish I had not given her the benefit of the doubt. While the backyard is nice, the inside is small and outdated in decor.
This is a long review for a reason- Michael has mixed reviews-some good and some bad- but please pay close attention to the low-star reviews. I was one of her clients who ended up experiencing terrible customer service with her. I have emails where her and I discussed availability for my baby shower event this past May 2022 and on two occasions, Michael stated the date was available. I moved forward with booking Le Jardin for my event and completed a partial payment to secure my date. I met up with Michael multiple times as well to discuss details including our last appointment on May 4th where we finalized details. I received a call May 9th, 12 days before my event, advising she had double-booked my date. She told me she did not want to ask the other client to move her event due to multiple health issues she was going through as she was also pregnant and that's why she had called me first asking me to move my event time. Per Michael, she would not be charging additional fees for the evening time since evening events cost more-I believe that’s just common sense and she shouldn’t even charge extra when I never selected an evening time per our contract. During this call, she mentioned this client had signed a contract in January BUT the client had canceled their event due to her medical issues-that they did not request a refund & their date would be determined at another time should they continue with an event. She never mentioned when I first reached out for a tour & it was not mentioned when I booked in April. I asked Michael TWICE if this date was available & she said yes both times. I felt nothing was being offered to us for this mistake, so I asked Michael for a discount if we were to move our time since double-booking & it would be an inconvenience to my guests & I would be required to change my menu. Michael’s exact words were “absolutely not” and that she “didn't double-book”, this client was 1st & this client takes priority since she signed first. Michael asked “why would this be an inconvenience to your guests? Wouldn’t they be in town anyway and leaving later? There is no need to change your menu & you should just offer your menu.” I explained how this was an inconvenience b/c guests had baby-sitters since no children would be attending, family members worked, & I simply wouldn't provide brunch items in the evening. I offered Michael a 2nd option if a discount wasn't an option for her & I asked her if should ask the client to bump her start time 1 hour so I could start 1 hour early that way I could still offer a light menu. Michael said she wouldn't ask the client anything. We continued back and forth since Michael did not take accountability and continued to say she did not double-book. She even said “how old are we? Are we going to cross our arms and pout our lips because we are not getting what we want?” Michael proceeded to say I was selfish because I was not “understanding” the other client and her medical issues as well as I had plenty of time to search for a new venue if necessary. Michael sent a text that evening discussing the phone conversation and that she had never “encountered so much anger and a my way or the highway attitude”. We continued to go back and forth as Michael was in breach of contract and the customer service was just the worst I had ever experienced. Michael then stated she could not ask the other client for any adjustments as her father is a “prominent attorney” and she was “legally obligated to them.” Michael had not reached out to let us know anything about our check being mailed for our refund yet so we attempted to reach out multiple times even offered to pick it up instead. She finally sent a text stating she mailed the check but never acknowledged the missed calls and messages. I had caught Michael in multiple lies during our last 2 phone conversations as well as switching up her statements. Be aware, Michael can be nice, but she also has an unpleasant and inconsiderate side. This is legit how this business owner treated a client.
