Absolutely horrific customer service. Took my truck in for minor symptoms of a timing/tuning issue since replacing the engine. It sat around on their lot for two weeks with no word. Upon calling I was told that only the owner looks at old vehicles, and that there is no way of giving me an estimate for when he might look at it because “I don’t make his schedule”. Owner eventually adjusted the timing and loose distributor but caused and/or ignored two other issues, causing my truck to be nearly undriveable. Tried to claim my nearly new carburetor needed to be replaced for about 1k. Refused to explain the actual issue, was very aggressive, and claimed the car was not driveable before he even touched it (despite me having driven it perfectly fine for weeks). He ignored when I tried explaining that the extra vacuum hoses he reattached were disconnected for a reason. Still just argued with me and refused to offer anything other than “you need a new carburetor” as an aggressive response forty times to anything I said or asked. Ended up taking the carburetor to a specialty carb rebuild shop, and as I thought, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the carburetor. Whatsoever. Turns out the fuel mixture was tuned horribly and needed to be realigned, and there was indeed a vacuum leak. Once those were adjusted everything ran perfectly. Almost like exactly what I’ve been trying to tell people for the last month. I regret what little money I did give them, as all I received was disrespectful arrogant attitudes and a car that drove worse than when I brought it in. Probably the most stereotypical “mechanic trying to screw over a young woman” scenario I have ever witnessed. Thank goodness I have what cursory knowledge i do about cars, and can google quite well, or I would have been robbed blind.

This garage is the best one I've found around Orange Park/Middleburg area. Since my dad passed away, they are the only ones I trust for service, honesty, fair prices, and extremely friendly staff. I recommend them to all my friends. View all Reviews

After towing my car to the dealership and being given unreasonable repair cost we were referred to Laid Back. They corrected all of my cars mechanical problems extremely fast and with out sacrificing quality of workmanship. Reception was very responsive and had great communication regarding a timeline and explaining the process. Best of all the price was significantly less expensive then Hyundai of Orange Park’s price. We absolutely got the best price and best workmanship.

When I got there I was greeted with a smile. I can say that they were honest with the work that they do. I feel they did not overcharge me for anything. I would highly recommend them just for their honesty and their excellent work. Especially if you have antique and vintage cars I think they specialize in those. The best car garage and all of Clay and Duval county.
