This rescue does so much for so many cats and kittens who would not stand a chance at survival otherwise. They are deeply involved in TNR to help control the cat population and work tirelessly to find homes for as many cats as they possibly can. The owners and volunteers dedicate an incredible amount of time, money, and emotional energy to the cats they rescue. Unfortunately, they can’t save every cat (no rescue can). But they truly do as much as humanly possible with the amount of donations and volunteers they have. Sometimes they have to turn people away when a foster home isn’t available or finds are low, but they help when they can. I have personally adopted three of my four cats from this rescue and have seen firsthand the care and dedication they put into each animal. It bothers me when people write negative reviews for a NON profit, VOLUNTEER based organization! Rescue work is hard and thankless and this rescue is deserving of respect and support!
Adopted my first kitty through Kitty Chicks and it was the best experience! The communication through the process was more than I could have ever asked for with first time adoption. Also, the care they show each one of these kitties is beyond evident. I would recommend to every one I could in Jax and beyond.
Kitty Chick Rescue, and Charlotte, who helps run it, are absolutely amazing. They have stepped up to make a difference for local cats, which is an overwhelming, never-ending, and often thankless job. Despite that, they continue to do it with heart, compassion, and constant perseverance. They are incredibly thorough in their vetting process and truly give everything they have to the rescue. I am forever grateful for them and cannot recommend them strongly enough. It honestly makes me sad that some people take the time to leave negative reviews simply because the rescue has had to turn down incoming surrenders due to being full or lacking enough fosters. A rescue cannot solve every situation - nor is it reasonable for one to expect them to - and sometimes all they can do is suggest reaching out to other rescues or shelters directly. That does not make them uncaring - it reflects the harsh reality of rescue work and limited resources. The level of entitlement it takes to become so insulted by that response that someone leaves a negative review for a nonprofit rescue is disappointing and frustrating. This organization exists solely because people chose to dedicate their time, energy, and resources to helping animals. Thankfully, I believe most people recognize the reality of the situation and are truly appreciative of everything this (and all) rescues do for the community and for animals in need.
****Update**** I’m attaching a picture of the chat since the person had the audacity to go lie about what really happened. It’s not the fact that she said no or that she took 5 hours to answer back. It’s the fact that how she responded and the little to no help to give some name of places or interest for the little kitties. My review has the intention to let everyone else know that they can’t count on this place for help. I asked help to drop off some kittens I found. First, it was very difficult to get a hold of them. We even went to the address listed here and there was no a single soul in the place. Not even cats. Very weird. Second, I finally got an answer from fb posts and the person told me they are not taking any because they are full. When I asked what I can do or what to do next, they just said I don’t know look for another shelter or place. So rude, so unprofessional. It makes me wonder if they are a rescue place, they should be able to help or give options if they don’t want to take more kittens. Just not recommended to do business here. I won’t even drop the kittens even if they have space for them.
They are amazing! They are doing the best they can with the resources they have. Give them grace! I spoke to them on the phone about kittens in need, they were able to help guide me in the right direction to guarantee their safety in the mean time while waiting to know if anyone can foster. This is a small rescue and doing the best they can, you can tell they 100% care!
