Beautiful park with camping, trails, a playground for the kiddos, picnic areas, and multiple beach accesses. We have walked our dogs here, both on and off the beach. Please keep your dogs leashed at all times 🙂 There's great surfing at this park. Be prepared for crowds if the waves are good. $5 to park or you can buy a yearly pass for just under $100. Love it here!
Nice campground. A lot of spaces to rent. Over all our visit was good. Downfall would be our camp host/ ranger definitely did not make campers adhere to "quiet" time after 10 the first 2 nights. Our neighbors left after the 2nd night of the partying and smoking, third night was peaceful and enjoyable. The location it self is great walking distance to the beach and all facilities at the campground which are kept up nicely. Plus side it is dog friendly and family kid friendly.
Renegade 38ft w/Jeep. $31 per night Mid June. Site 97. Check in was 15 minutes..? No issues with trees or low branches (13ft6in). Roads are a bit narrow but not nail biting. We arrived per instructions at 97, which is angled the wrong way. Easy maneuver with a trail head just across the road. Site is a jungle but spacious. Enough room to park the jeep beside it & we have 2 slides. FHU. 50a was stable. Tried 5 locations for Starlink (actuated & mini), no luck. Used AT&T data. Sandy site (dry)+muddy site w/rain. It was muddy. Very unlevel & required boondocking type level (see pics) but doable. We had 3" of rain in 7 days. We had tent campers picking up their tent from a flooded site & moving it to a non-flooded site, next to us. If cost is your bottom line, it’s a deal. You’ll deal with sand or mud, one way or the other. If you’re wanting an easy in-out, no leveling & clean…I’d pass. Another note, store has a butane refill station…getting an actual refill is a 50/50 chance.
We had such a great trip. We were there in July. The beaches were excellent. The campsites are very shaded with trees. The staff there is very nice and helpful. Can't say enough good things. We will be back!!
I am very disappointed with the condition of Hanna Park. The roads throughout the park are in extremely poor condition, with potholes everywhere. The trees and bushes are not properly maintained, and many areas look neglected. The picnic areas are especially concerning. The ground is covered with leaves, branches, and debris that appear to have never been cleaned or swept. Many of the picnic tables are old, rotted, broken, and covered with mold and mildew. Even the trash cans are covered in mildew. The park charges a $5 entrance fee, yet there seems to be almost no maintenance or upkeep being done. The only visible service appears to be emptying the trash cans. This is unacceptable for a paid public park. I have visited many state, county, and city parks that are completely free and maintained far better than this. Whoever is responsible for maintaining Hanna Park is doing a very poor job. Serious action and improvements are needed.
