We stopped here on our way back home to Kentucky from our vacation in Daytona Beach, Florida. The special was shrimp and fries which my husband got and I asked the cashier what was good. He told me Maui Maui blackened with blackened shrimp and fried green tomatoes. I told him I was picky about them but he said they were awesome. I ordered them. The food was quickly prepared and brought out to us. Oh my! The fish and shrimp was the best seafood I had had all week long! This was cooked well but not over done. The shrimp was definitely the best I had ever had. Those tomatoes, yes, they were awesome and I ate every one of them. The owner was talking with us and I saw where they serve fried squash and fried pickles. That nice man made a tiny sample of them and brought them piping hot out to our table. I must say they were the best I have had. My husband and I will be driving back down next year and this restaurant is on that list of places to stop and eat on the way back to Daytona and on the way back home. We were very impressed with the food, the friendly service and the overall experience. Thank you so much! See you next year!
Never have I paid for my food ahead of time and expected to add a tip before receiving either the food or service. This was my first and last visit to this restaurant. Tables weren't bussed immediately patrons left. Food on the floor. The quality of the food was less than what I could have had in another restaurant a couple miles away.
Ordered two cheeseburgers. They were super dry, and the meat was chunked, making it taste like canned meat. There was no flavor either. It was certainly not worth the calories or the price. When I told a staff member, they stated that it must have sat on the grill too long, and then shrugged. It was obvious that the two teenager for whom the order was placed did not take more than a couple of bites. She offered to make something else for us, but we were on our way out, and so I declined. The chicken strips for another member of our party were plentiful, but also very dry and tasteless. This visit was absolutely NOT what I had previously experienced here. Hoping this isn't evidence of another previously good local spot going downhill.
We had heard about Juniors and we were not disappointed. The shrimp was fresh, 100% fresh and very tasty. The side dishes were just as good and prepared on site. Wonderful! The service was at a higher level than anywhere I’ve been in a while. Excellent and above reproach. There might not be an ocean next to the restaurant, but the great seafood sure made me feel like there could have been!
So far only making Lunchtime visits - super salad greens are fresh and crisp, The onions, cabbage and carrots add a delightful zing to the seafood on top. Pleasant and attentive staff. The only downside is the atmosphere. Cannot give an A+ but if there were a few seasonal decorations it could boost that! But this is not a reason to stop coming! Food and service are outstanding!
