Julington is a really nice preserve. Great for hiking, biking, horse rides. No motorized vehicles are allowed. There's plenty of parking and restrooms that are decent enough. There is a picnic table but no grilling. There are 3 main trails: one is 6.1 miles total, another is 3.9 miles, and a third just under 2 miles. They intersect along the way so you can make up your own route. I will say they are sporadically marked, we were a little confused at first but I pulled up AllTrails app and followed that. We walked the shorter one today. We've done the mid-length one previously. In the beginning there's not much in the way of shade but towards the end/turn around it's much more shady, a welcome break. The trails are sandy and tree roots abound but its an easy hike just watch where you step, those tree roots jump up and trip you 😉 It's a nice place, almost quiet, which is hard to find in Jacksonville 😂

Loved the trails! So great to have plenty of parking, bathrooms in the parking area, and running water outside the bathrooms for washing. It's amazing this is free. I have done the longest loop. I think 5 or 6 miles and loved it.
One of my favorite trails to explore. My only critic is please don’t come unprepared in the summer without sunscreen and water, the tree don’t provide nearly enough shade and the mosquitos can become overwhelming during hurricane season. The best time to enjoy this trail is November - April
I was fascinated by how well the park is maintained and how easy it is to access. Everything is spotless and very well cared for. I loved riding my bike 🚴♀️; it’s definitely the perfect place to disconnect, be surrounded by nature, and enjoy the sound of birds. I’ll be back soon to keep exploring! 🌿✨ Highly recommend it ♥️
This is a nice park with anything from 0.4 miles to over 5 miles in several loop options for hiking, trail running, biking, or even in horse. It's mostly Florida dirt: sandy trails that eventually lead to the river tributaries. Many people being dogs on leashes and seem to pick up after them! They also recently improved this park by adding restrooms. There are plenty fast-serve restaurants nearby if needed before or after the park visit. It's a lovely, simple park with both woods and small river views.
