  I was looking forward to becoming a member, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing. My family decided to purchase an annual membership so our children could enjoy the amenities during the remainder of their summer break. On our first visit, we completed the registration process and were ready to pay, but the payment system was not working. Staff tried two different computers, but neither one would communicate with the card reader. After about 20 minutes, we were told they would contact us once the issue was resolved. A few days later, I received a phone call letting me know the problem had been fixed. I asked what the issue had been out of curiosity, and the employee responded that she did not know because she had not been there. That was completely understandable. What was disappointing was the tone of the conversation. I felt that my question was treated as though it was inappropriate, and the interaction came across as dismissive rather than customer focused. A simple explanation that she did not know because she was not involved would have been all that was needed. Based on that phone call, we made another trip to complete the purchase. Unfortunately, we encountered the exact same problem on both computers. The manager told me it was the first time he had heard about the issue. I explained that we had already made one unsuccessful trip, had received a phone call saying it was fixed, and had now made a second trip only to find the same problem. Because we were unable to activate the membership when we originally needed it, we had to make other arrangements for our children during the remainder of the summer. With school starting shortly, the membership no longer has the same value to our family that it did when we first tried to purchase it. Technical issues happen, and I understand that. My disappointment comes from the customer service experience, being told the problem had been fixed when it apparently had not been verified, making two unsuccessful trips, and ultimately missing the period when the membership would have been most beneficial to our family.
