This is a sketchy area. The tunnel connects the business and residential area to the south to the St. John’s town center area. Good intentions have turned this into a homeless campground. There are multiple vulgar graffiti images as you traverse through the dark tunnel. Unfortunate homeless people are also in and around the area. Recommend to avoid the area in the evenings just due to general safety. This should have been a good way to cross under Butler Blvd to reach the town center shops however it has turned into an unsafe and ugly area of Jacksonville. Hopes that the area will improve.
