This park is NOT closed. The church informed me today they keep an unlocked pad lock on the gate and families (restricted to families with kids, but NOT teens!) are welcome to use it. They said the lock is to make it appear closed to deter undesirable citizens from trespassing. Weird. This was a beautiful and welcoming park in the past with inspirational biblical quotes on painted signs all around. Now it looks like a prison gate, that defies the messages it previously ministered. Sad and discouraging for the neighborhood.
Sadly this isn’t a public park and should not be included in the google search of “parks” only open for private events. I was told this from maintenance. Unless there’s some magic door with a magic key this is not for regular use.
The guy who lives next door stares at you and makes you feel unwelcomed. His dogs bark at you through the fence like you're on their property.
It's a very nice and peaceful park to have birthday parties or just to bring the family to play or to walk down their nice trail that leads to the st.johns river .
