Makes everyone late to everything and is open constantly, even for literal tiny boats. Fun to walk and cool water views, sure, but the worst to get stuck at.
🌉 Surprisingly a very nice bridge to walk across! Yes, it looks great at night. But walking across it during a day gives you great closeup view of the bridge. Not to mention excellent city views.
I had the opportunity to walk across and get some photos of this bridge while in Jacksonville for a work conference. This bridge is in the downtown area of Jacksonville and very beautiful and picturesque. It is a baby blue bridge that has lights on it and at night it lights up and reflects on the river.
Time is telling how well built this bridge is with all the years of automotive abuse and strain it has endured mixed in with the negligent few who decide that trash cans dont exist and would rather be a bad human and litter. Though its had its days this bridge shines beautifully in the night sky with its blue brilliance. With multiple photo nooks to get a lasting memory or to simply watch the fierce northern current of the St.Johns river. It makes for a nice way to view our city on either side. Be very cautious though when stepping on the metal plates they can be very slippery on the sidewalk.
Only walkable downtown bridge at a believable height for crossing the river on foot or bicycle. Needs speed bumps coming off 95, but that's neither here nor there.
