From our very first consultation, I knew we clicked with Jay. He didn’t just photograph our wedding day, he captured us — every intimate moment, every raucous celebration, and all of our personalities. It seemed he was part photographer, part hype man, and part guest in the best way possible. He handed me my drink, encouraged the ridiculousness, and kept the energy up all night long. Our raw video arrived almost immediately, and the sneak peeks shortly after — both were absolutely perfect. If I ever need a photographer in Florida again, I would only use Jay and his team!
I decided last minute to book a videographer. I found Jay and liked his style of work and he had fair pricing (I guess this should have been a red flag). We got married early April 2026. Raw footage was delivered within a week from the wedding. We sent him our recorded vows within 2 months of wedding - he responded that he got them and I have not heard from him since (early June). I have emailed him multiple times and my wedding planner has reached out to him with no response. I’m thankful we have the raw footage but it’s sad that we won’t have the wedding video that we paid for.
Jay was our videographer for the day of our wedding and we couldn't have asked for a better person to capture our day! Jay was extremely professional and kind, capturing unique clips and grabbing all the clips we wanted! We are so lucky to worked with him. He got all our raw video and audio footage back so quickly and was amazing to relive the day so soon after. He truly is the best!
Avoid at all costs…unprofessional, doesn't communicate, and doesn't deliver If you look at Jay’s recent 1 star reviews you will notice a pattern. It seems that he has made a habit of not delivering on the services his client’s purchase and is consistently ghosting them. We are currently undergoing this same experience with Jay. After Jay delivered the photos and the raw video footage from our wedding, he told us we should expect 6-8 months for the wedding movie to be completed. After we received the raw video footage, Jay dropped off the face of the Earth. At the 10 month mark, we started reaching out to Jay for an update on the movie. We tried getting ahold of him via email, text, and phone calls over the course of a few months but never heard back from him. As a last ditch effort, we set up a new customer appointment via Jay’s website. At the time of setting up that appointment, it had been a little over a year since our wedding day. He showed up to the appointment and made a lot of seemingly made up excuses as to why we couldn't reach him and why the movie was taking so long to finish. During that discussion, I expressed the unneeded stress that his lack of communication caused us. He apologized, said it wouldn’t happen again, and gave us a new deadline for our wedding movie. We received the movie two months AFTER the new deadline he provided us. The wedding movie feels half-baked at best, and we are not satisfied with the final product. Jay reused the same video clips/sound bites multiple times throughout the movie, didn't use the music we requested, and made some very questionable creative decisions. It feels like he threw the movie together in one weekend instead of the 15 months he took to produce it. Jay had my wife and I fill out a wedding movie questionnaire to help guide him during the editing process. Based on how the movie turned out, it seems like our questionnaire responses were ignored completely. Also, we paid for drone footage but it wasn’t included in the movie or in our raw video footage. We have reached out to Jay about making some edits to the movie to make it salvageable but he is giving us the silent treatment again. It has been another 3 months since we first contacted him about making these wedding movie edits. I hope this review dissuades any couples from using Jay. We’ve contacted our wedding venue and shared our experience with them. They are going to blacklist Jay and not recommend him to other couples getting married at the venue.
We hired Jay for our wedding on 12/3/23. While there were positives, there were also significant issues that future couples should be aware of. First, we never received one of the key deliverables included in our package: the edited teaser/music video. We did receive the raw footage very quickly, which we appreciated. The fully edited wedding film also turned out beautifully, and we are happy with the final product. However, communication throughout the editing process was difficult and caused unnecessary anxiety. We did not receive the final edited film until 7/3/24. The teaser/music video, however, was never delivered. When I followed up about the missing video, communication became even more inconsistent. At times Jay would say it was coming soon. On 1/9/25, he apologized for the delay and said we would receive updates shortly. We never heard from him again. Now, over two years after our wedding and more than a year since his last response, that portion of our package remains incomplete. On the wedding day itself, my husband and I were also frustrated by how much control Jay tried to exert over moments we wanted to feel natural. During our first look, he told us not to talk to each other at one point. He frequently directed us and our bridal party to pose or fake laugh rather than allowing genuine moments to unfold. We had hoped for a more candid style, and at times it felt overly staged. Watching the raw footage back reinforces that feeling — it often felt like he saw himself more as a film director than someone capturing memories of our day. Most concerning, I had specifically told our DJ that I did not want the tradition where the person who catches the garter puts it on the bouquet catcher, in order to prevent any guest discomfort. Despite that, Jay encouraged that situation to happen anyway. That was disappointing and felt like a clear disregard for our stated wishes. Jay is clearly talented, and our final wedding film reflects that. However, the lack of follow-through on deliverables, ongoing communication issues, and disregard for our preferences on the wedding day made the overall experience frustrating. I’m sharing this so future couples can make a fully informed decision.
