Beautiful music, great and passionate sermon. The service was very uplifting. I loved all the cultures and that is why we chose this church to visit while traveling and seeking fellowship blessings. I especially loved the guitar with the songs. I would have loved to hear the drums. That's the surface, we were greeted with happy Sabbath and it stopped there. No guest book to be seen, after happy Sabbath, no one spoke to us to even ask our names. It was like we were invisible.
I would call our experience at this church mediocre at best. We travel a lot and visit a lot of churches. I do want to say that the music was fantastic. The visiting Pastor that they had had a really good message. However, that's as far as my good experience goes. We were greeted at the door with a happy sabbath. We are greeted in the parking lot with a happy sabbath. Other than that, nobody took the time to talk to us or acknowledge us. I did not get a warm feeling from this church.
This Church has a new pastor. He really loves his congregation. He really bares and pours himself into the word. They have children's Church where they have a lot of activities for the youth. This is a place you can definitely plant yourself feet first and grow in the word.
In my opinion, in Jacksonville, FL there is no other Seventh-day Adventist church, I'd call home. Upon reaching Jacksonville, I searched North and South, East and West for a new church, I could call home. The church was accommodating to my disabled father with muscular dystrophy and an awesome Senior's Ministry. The church was warm, supportive to my son with ASD (undiagnosed at the time) and had - still have - an awesome Youth Ministry. As a single mother, I appreciated it. There was diversity within the church; still is. Diversity within the people and in the music. I was captivated. The people I met were kind, sacrificial, willing to help and make us feel like we were home. No one judged each other for what they were wearing or the "noise" from baby who looked like a toddler. "Truly, come just as you are." I saw acceptance and lots of love. I said to myself, "this is the church!" I have been here since - 10 years! Unless God says, have no intentions of moving elsewhere. I see God continuously moving within and for this church. May his will continue to be done. 🙏🏼 I am so grateful that God directed me to Southpoint!
I go for the food pantry on Mon nights. It's such a blessing ! I certainly couldn't afford to buy the fresh fruit, vegetables milk, meat, eggs and cheese I acquire there. EVERYONE is so KIND, WARM, FRIENDLY and GENUINELY CONCERNED for our well being. I find them to be sincere, humble servants ministering and caring for the needs of others. I am most grateful and blessed for their sacrifice and service of love.
