All three of my children had braces here and our experience was wonderful start to finish for all. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and understanding. Dr. Shih is wonderful with kids and parents both, so personable and thorough in his explanations too! Highly recommend
I’ve had braces for 2 months. When I first got them put on not even 2 weeks passed one of my brackets fell out and my bite blockers fell out as well. The lady that did them didn’t know what she was doing. Doctor Peter Shih corrected her telling her not to be afraid to put more glue. I just went to my first appointment to get my braces retightened and the next day one of my brackets fell out again. I called and told the lady at the desk. She said that since it’s no pain then she doesn’t have to do it right away. This is ridiculous. I shouldn’t have to keep coming back because the people that work here don’t know what they’re doing. Edit: I went back to my appointment and they put on something “stronger” to keep the brackets from falling out. A month later the bracket is literally stuck in my gums and I have a hole in my gums. The bracket was already falling out. If I would have never known my gums could’ve grown over it. This is ridiculous. I’m never going back to this place ever again.
Outstanding customer service from Dr. Shih and his amazing crew. My son has sensory processing disorder and oral care has always been a challenge. Modern Orthodontics has managed his care and challenges with ease. Thankful to have found Dr. Shih and his team.
We love them. My son has been coming here over a year and we could not be happier. When my youngest was having an issue i talked to Dr. Shih, he explined the situation was patient and answered all my questions and took care of him. The level of care and professionalisim is exceptional.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Peter Shih and his entire orthodontic team at Jacksonville/Oakleaf Modern Orthodontics. From the moment my daughter and I walked into the office, we were welcomed with genuine kindness, warmth, and professionalism. The environment is so clean, inviting, and comfortable that you immediately feel at ease, and the staff treats you like family from day one. Dr. Shih is truly exceptional. His knowledge, skill, and attention to detail are unmatched, and he always takes the time to explain everything in a way that feels reassuring and easy to understand. You can tell he genuinely cares about his patients, not just their treatment results, but their comfort and confidence throughout the whole process. Both my daughter and I felt supported every step of the way. The staff is just as amazing—so friendly, patient, and accommodating. You never feel rushed, and they always greet you with a smile. The office runs smoothly, the atmosphere is positive, and the entire experience feels organized and thoughtful. I also love that the location is close to me, which made keeping appointments convenient and stress-free. Our results have been absolutely beautiful, but what made the biggest difference was how cared for we felt the entire time. If you’re looking for an orthodontist who is knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly dedicated to his patients, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Shih. He and his team are simply the best.
