Jacksonville International Airport Observation Area

Arrived 7/28/2025 to find this area closed for construction. We parked and tried to see some airplanes. You cannot see any airplanes from this “observation” point. We’ve been to FLL observation area and it’s WAY better. This was a waste of a drive and we had some disappointed kids. Instead, we paid 2.00 and went on the 6th floor of the parking garage to watch some planes land. Won’t be returning though, pretty sad excuse for an observation area.

Pretty cool spot as long as they’re using that runway we got to see this beautiful Boeing 747 takeoff with the Jaguars. Definitely would recommend using flight radar

Great spot to wait for arrival flights. There are fewer people and it offers a decent view. It is an okay spot for plane spotting, but keep in mind that most aircraft don't land near the adjacent runway 32. However, they do land on runway 8.

The area is nice and clean but as was previously mentioned there is very little traffic because not many use this runway. It would’ve been nice if they had two observation locations so you can go between the runways that have more traffic. I took my daughter to watch with me and sadly it was a snore fest. I watched on my app planes that had routes coming in on the other runway but nothing from across the “observation” zone. So, we started to watch YouTube live feeds at other locations.
