Hubbard House has a real thrift store. There are things that are on there that you can buy for a dollar or $.60. They have everything that you can imagine there I’m including some photos so you can get an idea of what things look like inside I purchased a very inexpensive hat to wear for $.60 and a few glass jars one to dispense syrup for a dollar. Plenty of things to do there it’s for a good cause. They help people who’ve been abused, especially women and children. They also accept donations but not on Monday and not when they are closed. Good store good people let’s keep supporting them and they always need volunteers to help out.
A real thrift store without inflated prices like a big one on Emerson. They have one dollar clothes racks for women, men and children. It’s well organized and I like how the plus size clothes have their own section. They have changing rooms too. They offer a discount on your next visit if you spend more than $50. The proceeds benefit a battered women’s shelter. I definitely recommend checking it out.
Low rating for INSIDE the store. I see what people are talking abou that older lady at cash register. She is not friendly and is abrupt. I dont know if she's really friendly or I catch her on a bad day. I cant explain it but she doesn't need to be up front on the register. Now the people in the loading are are SUPER,SUPER, SUPER friendly.
I waited in line for probably 15 mins to purchase my items (it was busy because everything was half off) and when I was next in line, I noticed a small sign, laying flat, next to the register that said “$10 minimum non-debit credit cards”. I didn’t have my debit card or cash, so I assumed I’d just have to pay a fee…nope, it was only debit card or cash if under $10, so I couldn’t get any of my items and had to put them back, and I could have maybe went and found more items, but I’d probably have to wait in that long line again because the cashiers didn’t really seem to want to help in anyway and were also pretty rude to me. I checked the front of the building, to make sure I didn’t miss a sign that stated “$10 minimum on non-debit cards” and there’s not. One, if that’s a rule, where I can’t get anything with my credit card under $10, then that needs to be on the front of the building. Two, if you’re having an event and don’t have the staff to keep up, don’t take your frustration out on me, a person who decided to come to your establishment and wait patiently in a long line, while being 8 months pregnant, to buy things with my hard earned money. Very disappointing.
It’s not that hard to update the hours of operation. We drove all the way over and they were closed on a Saturday.
