  VERY disappointed With the Billing and Patient Experience My husband went to H2 Physical Therapy in Riverside about a month ago while he was in significant pain. Unfortunately, we left feeling very disappointed with the experience. The financial policy was NOT explained to him before or during his visit. Because of how the visit was billed(unethically), the amount we paid was applied toward his deductible rather than being treated as a copay, which was not what we understood would happen. If patients are going to be responsible for these kinds of charges, the financial policies and billing should be CLEARLY explained upfront so they can make an INFORMED decision about their care. We also paid the amount requested IN FULL at the time of his visit. Then, yesterday, H2 automatically drafted additional money from my bank account, telling us that more was owed. Having money withdrawn from our account after we had already paid in full was extremely frustrating, especially when the financial expectations had never been clearly explained to us in the first place. My biggest concern is that the experience made us feel less like patients receiving care and more like sources of REVENUE. When someone comes in hurting and vulnerable, the focus should be on their care and making sure they understand what they are agreeing to—including the financial side of that care. I strongly recommend asking very detailed questions about billing, insurance processing, deductibles, and authorization before receiving treatment so you FULLY understand what you may be charged. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I cannot recommend H2 Physical Therapy.
