Gulani Vision Institute

I have been a patient of Dr. Gulani for over 20 years, and my family’s experience with him has been truly remarkable. My mother first came to him in the early 2000s with significant vision problems, and he took wonderful care of her, restoring her vision. My uncle came to him as well, and later, I sought his care for my cataracts. I was absolutely thrilled with the results, and now Dr. Gulani has taken care of me once again. One of the most touching moments came when I visited my ophthalmologist, my regular eye doctor. He was speaking with one of his sons, who is a doctor considering his future specialty, and described the results of Dr. Gulani’s work on my eyes as perfection. He explained that this was the kind of outcome his son should aspire to achieve. Hearing another eye doctor speak so highly of Dr. Gulani’s work brought tears to my eyes. I was overwhelmed with happiness and gratitude. After more than 20 years of trusting Dr. Gulani with my family’s vision, I can honestly say that his skill, dedication, and exceptional work have made a lasting difference in our lives. I am incredibly thankful for everything he has done for us.

I had Rk and PRK surgeries in the early 90’s. I have always had starbursts and trouble seeing at night. I have had multiple touch ups to try and improve my vision. Within the past few years my vision was getting much worse. I tried to get glasses and had double vision. My eye doctor prescribed scleral lens for my left eye. It worked fairly well but it needed cleaned about every 2 hours because it would film up. Night driving was very dangerous and daylight driving was scary. I couldn’t see signs until I was right at them. My eye doctor suggested two of the best cataract centers within 2 hours from my home. The one doctor’s office treated me like any other patient even with my complex condition and I didn’t even meet the doctor that would do the surgery. The other center was very similar but with the exception of my getting to meet the doctor. He explained to me that even after cataract surgery I would still need glasses because he couldn’t get a good measurement with my eyes. I was scheduled for both of these locations and called to cancel both because I didn’t feel comfortable with either of them. I then started searching the Internet for specialist with RK and other complicated eyes. I found 2 doctors that stood out Dr Gulani was one and there was one in California. I watched Dr Gulani videos and testimonies and decided that I would trust my eyes to Dr Gulani. I got my warm fuzzy feeling from him. I had a teleconference with him and he confirmed my decision. When we got here the atmosphere was amazing. Every day after we all were here, Dr. Gulani came through the door greeting every patient and their family member by first name. His staff was also so friendly and caring. My wife and I are thankful for Dr Gulani and his caring staff. I will be trusting him with my other eye and highly recommend him to anyone who has been told they are beyond help.

My name is Scott Mueller, and I’m here at the Gulani Vision Institute with my wife, Julie. Julie had RK surgery back in 1996. At the time, it was a great success. Her vision was excellent for about 20 years, and we were thrilled with the results. But after those 20 years, things started to change. Her vision gradually deteriorated. She needed glasses, and eventually she needed contact lenses. It wasn’t until this past year that we finally learned that some of the vision problems she was experiencing were actually related to the RK surgery she had years ago. We went to another doctor who explained what was happening and told us that hard contact lenses might be an option. But those lenses were absolutely horrible for Julie. Putting them in was difficult. Taking them out was difficult. And, quite honestly, it was just a terrible experience. And they really didn’t give us any other options. As her husband, I remember thinking, This just isn’t good enough. There has to be somebody who can help her. So I started researching. I spent a lot of time Googling and looking for someone who specialized in these kinds of difficult post-RK vision problems. That’s when we found Dr. Gulani here in Jacksonville, Florida. We initially had a video consultation with Dr. Gulani, and he told us that Julie was a candidate for his approach. So we came down to Jacksonville. Now, just three days later, we’re here, and Dr. Gulani has performed the procedure to correct Julie’s vision. And I have to say, Dr. Gulani and his entire team have taken such great care of us. Dr. Gulani was incredibly personal. He took the time to talk with us, answer our questions, and make us feel like we were more than just another patient. The Gulani Vision Institute has been incredible. From the moment we walked through the door, everyone has been caring, professional, and genuinely concerned about Julie and her vision. We couldn’t be happier that we found Dr. Gulani and his team. We’re incredibly excited about what comes next. After all these years of struggling with her vision, we’re finally taking the steps toward giving Julie a new vision for her life. I had RK surgery about 30 years ago, and for nearly 20 years, I was fortunate to have very good vision. However, over the past 10 years, my vision gradually began to deteriorate.
