Grumpy's Restaurant

I ordered the big breakfast. I liked that it came with coffee. The service was great. The coffee was good, but the decaf was bitter. The pancake were ok. I didn't try the bacon. I wish it was crispy. The home fries had to much flavoring for my preference. The eggs tasted fresh. My friend enjoyed their omelet with hashbrowns and grits. The menu looked like it had an option for everyone. I like it had several sides sold individually. The prices were reasonable.

We had the crab cake, benedict and the fried tomato benedict. Delicious...everything was seasoned perfectly.... Savory and unique... Each individual portion is seasoned differently with its own set of flavors. It tastes like someone cooked it at home and then brought it here. Unless you're plateauing "don't" look like this when you're done. ....They didn't put enough seasoning..

Wow!! Have driven past so many times after they are closed and wanted to stop by. Well today we were able to. Right off Kingsley parking lot is ok but was a bit crowded at 12:30 pm. We self seating and were greeted by Shannon our server who was knowledgeable and fantastic. Ordered French Onion soup. Was told it was great, it was ok. A bit on the thin side with a rather soft bread and not hot just warm so for that alone 4 ⭐. I ordered the Sheppard Pie, nice, tasty and great so 5 ⭐. Bill had breakfast #3 two sunny side eggs, sausage links, hash browns and toast all were perfect 5 ⭐. Coffee was ok but lacked the dinner strong smell and taste so 4 ⭐. Overall it was well worth the stop and enjoyed the vocial customers and excellent staff which makes this a must stop in for Breakfast or Lunch.

Grumpy's seems to be the best, most consistently high-energy restaurant for serving breakfast and lunch in northeast Florida. Another applicable adjective is pro-active. The friendly employees, the excellently trained servers, like Shannon who served me at the counter, are a credit to the manager who hired and trained them. My spot was cleared and cleaned and ready for me and the service was prompt. The choice I made was a club sandwich with fries and it was very delicious. The sandwich was so big, I had to carry half of it home. Shannon thoughtfully offered a water to go with me as it was what I preferred drinking with my lunch. I was glad to find a parking spot behind the restaurant and they even have an overflow lot behind that. It's very thoughtful on the owner's part to have parking spaces designated for veterans as well as handicapped.
