This is simply the worst possible dental treatment experience; they placed a crown on my tooth while it was already painful and swollen, and I’ve been suffering in pain for days. I went to the clinic today, and Dr. Soni said everything was fine, though she offered to refer me to a root canal specialist if I wanted. In my view, that referral should have been made the day the crown was placed, given that I had reported the pain. I am trying to contact the company to file a complaint, but so far, I haven't succeeded. I will post updates here regarding the next steps I take.
UPDATE: please see bottom of review. TLDR: SO FRAUDULENT! Greenberg Dental is doing anything and everything they can to make the customer pay more out of pocket. Their actions are fraudulent. Bring a copy of your dental insurance ‘Schedule of Benefits’ and ask as many questions as you need to feel comfortable with your treatment decision. Make sure they code the work properly (they won’t) so your insurance can provide the appropriate coverage for services included in your plan. I filed a grievance with my insurance for this fraudulent behavior. Greenberg is one of their leading providers (most in my area), yet they don’t even offer materials/services listed in their contracts with the insurance, or they code them differently to avoid insurance coverage. I have been a customer of Greenberg for years and never had any issues. I moved to a different location after not visiting for 1+ years, and I was greeted with nothing but issues in terms of service and billing. I needed 2 crowns, never had crowns before. My insurance states it covers crowns of certain materials. Of course this office said that they only offer Zirconia crowns, a material not covered in my dental plan. They code it as a porcelain fused to base metal crown (D2751), this is covered in my plan. However they add on a code labeled Cosmetic Upgrade (D1111) since they don’t have a code in their system for Zirconia. Sources online state that Zirconia should be coded as porcelain/ceramic crowns. I didn’t think getting dental work would be this costly, annoying, and stressful with dental insurance. Who knew keeping a healthy mouth is as bad as working with a shady, used car salesman!? I will update my review if I am provided only the necessary dental care that I need, coded correctly, and at an affordable price given my dental coverage. UPDATE: After a few months, the grievance I filed with my dental insurer (MetLife) was finally settled. Greenberg originally billed me $2,320 for 2 crowns. The determined finalized amount, post-grievance settlement, that I rightfully owed is $475. MetLife issued me a refund check in the amount of $1845. If you believe you are being overbilled by the practice, review your schedule of benefits provided by your insurer, and if you notice billing malpractice, contact your insurer to confirm. If confirmed overbilled, file a grievance against the practice with your insurer. Note: Greenberg’s billing department staff stuck to their guns throughout the entire process stating they were billing us correctly. Wait until the grievance is settled and you receive a response from your insurer.
The orthodontist was so great with my dentist fearing kiddo! He made her feel relaxed and comfortable. Explained everything he was doing and made the whole experience great!
My husband and I came to this clinic for the first time for a checkup and teeth cleaning. Ultimately, I was forced to undergo a service that my insurance doesn't cover and that I didn't really need. They tried to force my husband to undergo a deep cleaning based solely on x-rays and under the pretext that he wouldn't pay for it, even though our insurance doesn't fully cover such services.
They do provide the service they offer, but their front desk service leaves much to be desired. The most disappointing part is that I still haven’t received the reimbursement for a surgery one of my daughters had. They already billed and collected from my insurance (Aetna), yet after three months I’ve received nothing—not even a phone call—only excuses. Be careful
