I am completing this survey to explain my experience at the Great Expressions office on Dunn Avenue in Jacksonville. I scheduled an appointment because I needed a cleaning. When I arrived for my first appointment, the cleaning was not done. Instead, I was told that I needed to pay for the visit and X-rays. I explained that I had already had these services done previously in South Florida. A staff member then told me that they would give me a discount. Unfortunately, my experience with the front desk was very unpleasant. The staff member was rude to me, and another employee became involved in the conversation. I was told that the discount would be applied. However, about a month later, I received a bill for $53 related to the discounted amount. I called the office to ask for an explanation, but the front-desk employee was extremely rude to me. She told me, “If you don’t want to, don’t come.” I asked for her name, but she refused to give it to me. Because I already had another appointment scheduled for the following week, I decided to go to the office in person to ask about the $53 charge. When I arrived, I asked for an explanation. I was approximately eight minutes late because it takes about 45 minutes for me to drive to the office. Instead of helping me understand the charge, the employee repeatedly focused on the fact that I was late and spoke to me in a very disrespectful manner. She also asked me whether I was going to pay and told me that they could not guarantee that my insurance would pay. I explained that I understand how insurance works because I work in the insurance industry. Despite that, the conversation continued in a very confrontational manner. At that point, I decided to leave because I did not feel I was being treated respectfully. I then went to another Great Expressions location in Normandy, and my experience there was completely different. The staff was polite, professional, friendly, and very helpful. I truly appreciated the way they treated me. I believe the Dunn Avenue office needs better customer-service training, particularly at the front desk. Patients should be treated with courtesy and respect, even when there is a billing or scheduling issue. Based on my experience, I would not recommend the Dunn Avenue location. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and provides appropriate coaching and training to the staff.
Brought hubby this morning at Dr. Tien Pham for a Dental evaluations..we are pleased with the promptness and welcoming service..Equipments need updating yet still functional and are we are currently looking at their recommendations.
This place is a complete joke. My wife and I were both new patients, and our experience has been nothing but frustrating from the start. My new patient visit on June 25 was terrible. It felt like there was one dentist and six assistants, but no one was communicating with each other. I received three different treatment quotes throughout the visit because no one seemed to know what was going on. After spending about $300 for my new patient visit, I left without any work being done and was scheduled to return the very next day. I came back on time the next morning, only to be told there was an insurance discrepancy. Suddenly, my treatment plan was over $4,500 more than what I had been quoted the day before. I told them that was fine—I would simply wait until my insurance was corrected and come back later to have the work done. That’s when things got even worse. Even though this appointment had only been scheduled the previous afternoon (less than 24 hours earlier), I was told I would be charged a cancellation or no-show fee if I didn’t proceed. I explained that didn’t make any sense because I wasn’t refusing treatment—I was postponing it due to an insurance issue that was completely outside of my control. They couldn’t even give me a consistent quote the day before, yet somehow I was expected to either pay thousands of dollars immediately or be charged a fee. That is unacceptable. At that point, I asked them to remove me as a patient. My first experience was bad. My second experience was even worse. The front desk was extremely unprofessional, and the entire office felt disorganized from beginning to end. I would not recommend this office to anyone looking for professional, organized dental care.
By far the nicest and knowledgeable staff there is. From start to finish and always with a smile you will feel right at home. Spectacular work and a dr that doesn't just look at you like ur just another patient. Extremely satisfied and will always highly recommend to anyone in need of teeth care 😬
Patrica the office manager is exceptional. She goes above and beyond. Great customer service and the staff is friendly. Melissa is very friendly and Nia helped me when my tooth was hurting very bad. I couldn’t even take the x-ray due to the pain. Nia was very patient and kind. Great team and staff.
