I brought my car in because I believed it had a bad wheel bearing or ball joint and explained my concerns from the beginning. Instead of performing a thorough inspection, I was charged an $89 diagnostic fee. The mechanic plugged in a code reader, tightened my battery terminal, and left without properly inspecting the suspension or even test driving my vehicle. It took three appointments before he finally showed up and confirmed it was a bad wheel bearing—the same issue I had been describing all along. He told me he would contact me on Monday to schedule the repair, but I never heard back. When I followed up, I was initially told I would receive a refund for the diagnostic fee. Instead, communication stopped and my number was blocked. To make matters worse, the mechanic’s wife later contacted me online and sent me messages that I perceived as threatening. At that point, I felt the situation had become completely unprofessional. I will admit that during our final phone call I said things out of anger and frustration. I shouldn’t have let my emotions get the best of me. However, that frustration came after repeated missed appointments, poor communication, paying for what I believe was an inadequate diagnostic, being told I’d receive a refund that never came, and then being blocked instead. I cannot recommend this business based on my experience. Awful!
5 stars - EXCELLENT Eric at Gearhead Motorsports knows personal watercraft inside out. He's very thorough, meticulous with his work, & most importantly he's HONEST. He found a gold cross necklace pendant in the bottom of my ski & returned it to me. I would have never known. Thank you Eric.
I was extremely happy with my used Yamaha Waverunner I got from Eric at Gearhead Motorsports! I have been using it for several months & am very pleased with it. I would recommend using Gearhead’s for all your jetski & repair service needs!!!
We started modifying my newer ski last year instead of replacing factory parts and not too long after getting the ski back it started acting up. Turned out that some of the riva parts had malfunctioned. Eric took a little while to figure out what exactly the issue was but ultimately warrantied all parts, labor, and diagnostic time. Always very responsive, wouldn’t go anywhere else.
Gearhead had my Seadoo boat for almost a full year!! Had me fully convinced he knew what he was doing. Then gave me every excuse as to why my boat wasn't finished yet...when he did finally start working on it, he ACTUALLY took MY boat somewhere else to have it worked on, without telling me beforehand!!! ECU / ECM (computer problems) that Gearhead didn't have the experience or equipment to fix. 3 ECU's later and ME paying for (labor and parts) for something that didn't work. Final straw on last ECU....told me he would have to replace injectors and more. I told him NO! Paid $2000.00 to get my NON RUNNING boat back!!! Found New guy to look at it and he told me the ECU that Gearhead installed and charged me for was not even the right ECU for my boat!! See my problem here? The injectors were not the problem, so he was just guessing again!! (INSTALLED NEW ONES MYSELF) I will never take anything to this guy or EVER tell anyone else to go to him!! You should find someone else to work on your boat and/or jet ski!!!
