I initially reached out to Freedom Van Go about having retrofit work completed on my Tiffin Open Trail. I was originally quoted around two days for the work, but that quickly changed to five days and then four days, with the scheduling also being pushed further out. I was told they would rather quote four days and potentially “overperform” by finishing in two. Unfortunately, that approach didn’t work for me because I would still have to plan and pay for four nights in a hotel while the RV was being worked on. I ultimately chose another business that was able to accommodate me much sooner and complete the retrofit in a significantly shorter timeframe. They were also able to take care of several additional projects while I was there, including some upgrades that aren’t even commercially available yet. I can’t speak to the quality of Freedom Van Go’s actual installation work because I ultimately decided not to have the work performed there. However, based on my experience with the scheduling process and changing timeframe, I decided it made more sense to take my business elsewhere. I’m glad I did, as the alternative shop was able to provide a timeframe and flexibility that worked much better for me.
I had an excellent experience at FreedomVango. They were prompt for my appointment time, did a walk through review of the services to be performed and another walk through after completion. Very courteous, professional and prompt. Something I rarely experience in RV service work these days.
Wow, where to start? We arrived at FreedomVanGo around closing time the day before our scheduled appointment for the Phase 2 Electrical Upgrade. I wanted to locate the shop while there was still daylight. I drove around back and spoke with a few techs who were cleaning up and taking out the trash. Hannah came out to greet me and made sure that I knew the gate code and that there was a 15 Amp shore power I could plug into. I also messaged Nick, our Sales Rep, to let him know we would see him in the morning at 9 AM. As we got settled in for the night, Lisa (the Operations Manager) asked if we needed ice, water or anything. I told her thanks, but that we are all set. The security gate closes around dusk, and we had a quiet evening. The next morning at 9 AM, I was greeted by Max, Nate, and Nick. They performed an intake inspection and confirmed a baseline of functionality checks (alternator output, generator output, etc.) They even pointed out that the second battery was not properly installed by my dealer, and for the price of cabling and lugs, they fixed that while they were in there. My wife and I set up in the beautiful customer waiting area while they did their work. Coffee (multiple K-cup flavors), Ice, water, wifi, and cool A/C. We got to meet Anna at the reception area, Chad, and of course, Grant. Several hours after lunch (maybe 3:30 PM), we were all set and ready to go. Nate and Max went over the upgrade and answered my questions. Lisa also gave us a shop tour and told us of the growth and improvements they have made. We got a load of swag, and I can’t think of a better experience (it was our first visit). Speaking with Lisa and other employees, it is easy to see that this location operates like family (a healthy one!) and strives to bring newcomers into the FVG family. I paid fully for my travel to and from FVG as well as the Phase 2 Electrical Upgrade. My compensation was smiles and thank you’s from the staff and treats for our dog, Cricket. I wonder IF they would consider opening a Texas location? A shorter drive would mean more money to spend on gear or upgrades instead of fuel! About 2,200 miles round-trip.
Great experience with FVG, well worth the travel time to their location. They installed four windows, a fan, and an air conditioning unit for me. The estimating and scheduling process was very easy and straight forward. The work was completely very professionally and I'm pleased with everything. Their staff is terrific and any questions I had post-install were answered very quickly. Highly recommend FVG!
I brought my custom Sprinter build to Freedom VanGo to have a slide window installed on the door. I have not been this impressed by a company in years! From the moment I scheduled the appointment with them to the welcoming showroom and literally every employee working for them was as nice and professional as you could imagine! The expertise runs deep and I am so glad that I found them. If you are anywhere in the USA - this is the place to go to have work done on your Sprinter or Ekko! The mechanics, sales people, management and store front are all 11 out of 10's. They go above and beyond to accommodate you! The shop manager even found a bad valve stem on my dually and replaced it for FREE because he was worried that the van would not be safe! They are the BEST!
